Passengers on Air Peace nationwide were left stranded following the protest by members of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, working with the Airline which placed its terminals under lock and key.

Flight Operations were disrupted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. An Air Peace flight scheduled to depart Lagos at 6:30 a.m. could not take off.

The situation was the same at all airports across the country.

According to the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA,  Michael Achimugu, “It is a union thing,” he had stated.

Several passengers have taken to the social media to vent their anger over the disruption of their flights, as an X user,  YoufoundAlex, took to his account and said:

“I have a 9:00 a.m. appointment in Abuja today, but unfortunately, I am currently stranded at the Lagos airport due to an ongoing protest by Air Peace workers, which has resulted in the shutdown of the airport and disruption of flights”.

This unfortunate development has broght about complaints from stranded passengers, who have threatened legal suit against the Airline.

Sadly, the Management of Air Peace has kept mute on this incident, as they were yet to make an official statement.
