Former Chief of Defence Staff, CDS , General Lucky Irabor, has warned political actors, religious and community leaders against engaging in incendiary, inflammable and inciting rhetorics capable of undermining and breaching the peace and stability of the country.
Based on those, he has called for the arrest, and prosecution of Senator Francis Fadahunsi , Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir , Sheikh Ahmad Gumi ,and others who are in the habit of making statements capable of stoking ethnic, religious and political violence in the country.
On a Channels Television Interview, General Irabor who spoke against the backdrop of Senator Fadahunsi’s “Kill Accord Members” outburst ahead of the August 15,2026 , tension-soaked Osun state off-circle gubernatorial poll, insisted that individuals threatening the peace and stability of the country through their unguarded and provocation utterances should be dealt with decisively.
While expressing satisfaction with the Police decision to invite the Osun Senator, Irabor insisted he be questioned beyond the present circumstances.

“For me as a person , any time we hear individuals making inciting comments, I think such people should be picked up immediately. And that is why I am glad that the police invited Senator Fadahunsi even though the statement he made was a political one . But I think that it also borders on incitement to violence.
“In all, I think the Police have done the right thing by inviting him ,and he should be questioned even beyond that”, Irabor stated
According to the former CDS , Sheikh Jinjir who, also, engaged in an unprecedented religious-cum political incitement over the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressive Congress APC , should equally be invited by security agencies

“In addition to the invitation of Senator Fadahunsi, I think that, of course, the Sheikh in Kano , Sheikh Jinjir who also made some inciting comments should be invited . That also adds to the bouquet of threats that we have.
“He should also be arrested and I also believe that the various comments that someone like Gumi has been making ,demands that he be called not just to order, but of course invited or arrested in other to let the populace know that there is nobody who is above the law”, he noted.
General Irabor’s position is coming amidst widespread calls for the arrest and prosecution of the duo of Sheikh Jinjir and Senator Fadahunsi ,whose inflammatory comments have heated up the polity in the last couple days.
