An attempted stowaway has been apprehended by FAAN security when he rushed out of the Bush and climbed a Port Harcourt bound Aircraft waiting to take off, depositing his rucksack into the engine, thereby underlying the security crisis bedeviling the Nigerian airports.
The aircraft belongs to Azerman Airlines.
News agency of Nigeria reports that the man claimed to have wanted to climb to Ghana, and has been arrested by the Federal Airports Authorities of Nigeria, FAAN, who took him to the Airport interrogating room, popularly called tango City.
FAAN Spokesperson Henrietta Yakubu, confirmed this to NAN.
This is not the first time that a stowaway has been apprehended at the airport.During the time Adams Oshiomhole was governor, a boy sneaked into an aircraft about to taxi and was arrested. But the governor gave him a VIP treatment and no deterrent was given. This may have emboldened others.
