Adamawa State Governorship Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress(NDC), Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani has alleged the unfairness in former Secretary to the Government of Federation, (SGF), and national leader of the party (NDC), David Babachir Lawal singling her out for attack over his rejection as leader by governorship candidates in the North East zone.
Recall that the former SGF had accused Binani and other NDC governorship candidates in the northern zone of working against the party’s presidential ticket.
Senator Binani confirmed that she participated in a democratically convened meeting of NDC governorship candidates where decisions concerning the North-East were taken, adding that she remained committed to the decision to recognize Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as the party’s leader in the North.
Speaking through her campaign Organization’ s Director Media and Public Affairs, Mathias Yohanna in Yola at the weekend, Binani said she would not be intimidated by what she described as “indecent language” or personal attacks insisting that the decision was a collective one taken in the interest of the party not an individual.
“Engr Babachir Lawal in his characteristic manner is poised for destruction, rather than building the party and individuals who had dissipated energy and resources in moving the party to greater heights.
“While we respect elders who stand for the truth, our respect should not be taken for granted.
“We must admit that conscience, integrity, and respect for one another should be the bases of any sound political engineering,

“We wish to call on the national leadership of our great party to draw the attention of Mr Babachir Lawal to listen to the voice of reason under the noble principle of majoritarian decision to ensure peace and tranquility reigns in our great party.”
Yohanna in the statement captioned”Response to Engr. Babachir Lawal on his attack on the Gubernatorial candidates from the North East region” advised the party national leadership to reprimand Babachir for his unguarded utterances, unsubstantiated and politically divisive tendencies”.
“Statesmen are known for building Bridges of unity and progress in any society. But Engr Babachir Lawal is busy vilifying the good intentions of leaders who are building the party in the state and the region.
“While we respect the Constitutional rights of individuals to freely express themselves, we nonetheless believe that the Constitution of our great party the NDC does not permit the use of cruel , indecent and unschooled language in official debates and conversation.
“This therefore calls for unmasking a malignant narcissist from their grand delusions in seeing themselves as demigods.”
