The Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, has affirmed that traditional medicine is effective and affordable to buy.

He has, therefore, pushed for the integration of traditional medicine with the modern (orthodox) medicine for the enhancement of virile healthcare delivery, before the exit of traditional medical practitioners.

His advice was contained in a statement issued and signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Olugbemiga Ayoade, shortly after a courtesy visit by the executive members of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Oyo State branch.

According to Oba Ladoja, the use of traditional medicine was not only effective, but also accessible and affordable.

“I believe in the efficacy of the traditional medicine, its accessibility and affordability,” Olubadan said.

Earlier in his speech, the chairman of PSN, Oyo State branch, Colonel Victor Segun Ajanaku (rtd.), said members were at the palace to pay congratulatory visit to Oba Ladoja on his ascension to the throne of his forefathers and to show the appreciation of members on many achievements recorded within the short period by the monarch.

According to the chairman, they were also at the palace to inform the monarch of the pharmacists’ storey building built in Ibadan “which is the first of its kind in Nigeria.”
