Presidential Adviser, Daniel Bwala, has been handed over by Activist Aisha Yesufu, not to God or Security Agencies, but to Mehdi Hassan, a Journalist  with Aljazeera.

Yesufu was responding to an interview granted by Bwala where he made a not too complimentary remark about her.

During the interview, the interviewer made reference  to Bwala’s earlier interview where he made  uncomplimentary remarks about Yesufu who has just defected from the African Democratic Congress, ADC,  to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, following Peter Obi’s foot steps. She had said she would go where Obi goes. She, also, declared interest in running for the Senate of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, a seat currently occupied by Senator Ireti Kingibe.

Bwala had, in his interview taken on both Obi and Yesufu for defecting to NDC, and noted that Yesufu   declared interest in challenging Kingibe. As for Obi, Bwala mocked him for not being able to stay in one party and afraid of taking part in Party Primaries.

But Yesufu, in her response, refused to engage with Bwala, insisting that no right thinking Nigerian would waste time on Bwala.

Her words: “First of all, there’s no right-thinking Nigerian that is going to waste their energy on discussing Daniel Bwala, and I’m really not going to focus on that.”

She however put Bwala in where she felt was his place.

She said: “I heard when he was calling my name. I think I will leave him with Mehdi Hassan. That’s someone that knows how to deal with people like Daniel Bwala.”

Mehdi Hassan, you remember, is the Aljazeera Journalist who interviewed Bwala recently on the activities of the President Bola Tinubu administration, and, according to not a few people, wiped the floor with  Bwala.

Yesufu: “And so one of the things I would say is that in the case of Nigeria, definitely what we want is good governance, accountability, and transparency, and a place where the lives of Nigeria would matter.”

In her defence of Obi, Yesufu said the former LP Presidential Candidate in 2023, has been part of opposition politics since leaving office as Governor.

She noted: “And one of the things is that Mr. Peter Obi, since he left government, as  governor of Anambra, he has been in opposition.

“And I can tell you, even the Mr. Tinubu (President) that they talk about, he has been in opposition.

“I remember there’s a particular piece of mind that they’re very fond of bringing up when I said he’s the father of opposition. And yeah, I mean that, because he stayed in opposition until he was able to get into office. His party was able to get into office in 2015.”

But she noted that remaining in opposition does not mean that one must remain in one political party. “But that doesn’t mean that he (Tinubu) stayed in one party.”
