Kassy Chukwu, a Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media to Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has threatened International Music Artiste, David Adeleke, popular as Davido, with a violent attack if he dared vusit Edo State.
Chukwu declared the Afrobeats star a persona non grata in the State.
The Governor’s aide stated, “If We Catch You, They’ll Remove Your Teeth With Slaps.” He, thus, barred him from performing in the State.
The Clergyman, who is also the General Overseer of Peniel Global Ministries, was quoted as saying: “You have been bannned from coming to perform in Edo state. If we catch you, we will tell boys to remove your teeth with slaps. I don’t blame you, I blame Isreal DMW.”
Recall that a war of words broke out between Governor Okpebholo and Davido prior to the August 15th Osun State Governorship Election, in which the singer actively supported his uncle, and participated in campaign activities and youth mobilisation.
Adeleke subsequently won the election, securing a second term.
Chukwu’s comments have since drawn criticism from some Nigerians, with many arguing that disagreements involving a public figure should not be accompanied by threats of violence.
