This is not the best of times for the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and members of his family.

One of his daughters has tested positive for COVID-19. This has placed the Governor in a difficult situation.

It is not known when, and how his daughter contracted the Virus. But Okowa and members of his family have gone into isolation to wait-out for 14 days in order to know their status.

The incident could have a spiral effect because there must have been contacts with a number of people in the Government House, including the personal staff of the Okowas.

This isolation comes at a time Okowa is needed to help Obaseki in his campaign for a second term on the platform of Okowa’s party.

Mr Olisa Ifeajika, Okowa’s Chief Press Secretary, confirmed the status of the Okowas.

In another development, the Provost of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Professor Okwudili Udemezue, died on Thursday of COVID-19 complications.

Udemezue was elected NAUTH Provost on October 3, 2018.

And in a scary story, the owner and founder of HealthPlus, a pharmaceutical chain with more than 50 branches has just disclosed how eleven members of his family of 12, including him, contracted the Virus, inspite of all precautions they took.
