The opposition party said Tinubu will be roundly defeated despite the inclusion of the governor in the APC presidential campaign list, saying Adeleke will not make any impact for the president’s reelection bid.

The party said its Governorship candidate, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state would win the state during the election.

The magazine report that Governor Adeleke, a member of the Accord Party has thrown his weight behind Tinubu’s reelection bid even though he’s not a member of the ruling APC.

But in a statement signed by state APC Chairman, Wale Adedayo, Governor Adeleke will not make any consequential impact for the president as far as votes is concerned. Adedayo was APC governorship candidate in the August governorship election won by Governor Adeleke.

According to Adedayo, the state is politically sophisticated and will determine who to vote for based on the performance of the presidential candidates contesting the election, adding that the governor will not sway the decision of the people of the state by being merely appointed in Tinubu’s presidential campaign list.

“Osun people are politically sophisticated and will vote based on their conscience, not on whose name appears on a campaign council list.

“The fact that Adeleke was named Osun State Coordinator of the PBAT Presidential Campaign Council does not mean the APC will win Osun.

“We are confident that despite this appointment, our presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, will win Osun State in the general election,” Adebayo declared.
