Barely four months to the 2027 presidential election, the Edo state chairman of the ruling All Progressivs Congress, APC, Jaret Tenebe has stepped uphis rhetorics against those trying tothwart the plan by the state government to deliver 2.5 million votes for President BolaAhmed Tinubu.
Tenebe made the threat during one of the campaign rallies by Governor Monday Okpebholo who’s currently tourning the 18 local governments areas ofthe state, to solicit support forthe party and the president,who’s seeking reelection.
Governor Okpebholo, a stauch ally of the president whohave vowed to ensure his return to office next year by delivering a whopping 2.5 million votes tohim.
In line with this all state apparatus, including the leadership ofthe party has been directed by the governorto ensurethat the plan materalised, leading toa situation where state and party officials were being forced to issue threats to opponents they considered to be working to thwart the plan.
Tenebe was captured in a viralvideo saying the party will release the ”AK47 Fire” on anyone who triedto stop the plan to ensure that President Tinubu records 2.5 millions votes as promised by the governor.
”So anybody who refuses, who wants to stand in our way of not getting the 2.5 million votes we want to give to Mr President, AK-47 fire,” he said.
The state APCChairman alsoprmised to release the ”Holy Ghst Fire” on the party’s opponents, saying the governor recently proved that he can deiver forthe president by recoring over 2.1million votes forthe party during the last councilelection in the state.
Recall that Governor Okpebholo, in his manner ofsupporting the president, ordered all state government officialsto wear the signature capof President Tinubu on their native attires during official events, warning that whoever disobeyed the roder will be sacked fromhis government.
