Senator Abdulaziz Yari, the Director-General of the All Progressives’ Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC), has disclosed that Nigerians will be convinced to vote President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
The former governor of Zamfara state made the remark in Mecca, Saudi Arabi while speaking to journalists, in the Muslim Holy Land where he and other government officials are currently attending the pilgrimage with President Tinubu.
The President had earlier issued a statement saying the president was going to the Holy Land to pray for the country ahead next year’s election.
According to the APC -PCC Director General, he believes that the incumbent’s performance will secure a second term for him, saying the Council will work tirelessly to ensure that Tinubu is elected for a fresh four year term as Nigeria’s President and Commander-in-Chief next year.
The former governor commends the president’s decision to party for the country, saying the power to make leaders exclusively resides with God.
Yari said, “That’s what makes a leader, because when you ask him, he first prayed for the country, prayed for every Nigerian, and also said this election is an election in which God has selected the person who will be a leader, and only He can make someone a leader or otherwise.
“So, in total, I depend on Allah to do it for him as He did it for him in 2023. By that, Allah says we should welcome and work, and that all the procedures we are undertaking to campaign, talk to people, convince them, and show them what we have done and achieved will, by God’s grace, convince people to elect us.
Tinubu is among the candidates contesting the 2027 election, which political analysts insist will be a three-horse race between him and presidential candidates of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC respectively.
