‘X’ Users, Presidency Drag Odinkalu To Dustbin Over Claim Tinubu’s Speech At APC PCC Inauguration Was Pre-recorded

“There are signs of mental distress,” is one of the reactions which trailed comment by Human rights lawyer and activist, Chidi Odinkalu, which claimed that President Bola Tinubu was not physically present during the inauguration of the APC Presidential campaign council.

Odinkalu had claimed on his X handle, that President Tinubu was not physically present at the event, but a pre-recorded speech was played.

His comment has come under fire for speculating that the speech by President Bola Tinubu during the inauguration of the APC Presidential campaign council was pre-recorded.

TVC News Online reported that the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council were inaugurated in Abuja on Wednesday.

Speaking at the inauguration, Tinubu charged members to take the party’s message to Nigerians across states and local government areas.

Odinkalu, while sharing a clip from the event, wrote on X: “It does not require close study of this clip to understand that this was a pre-recorded address.

 @officialABAT was not at this venue in person. The transitions are unnatural, the camera work is a production and everything is an orchestration.

“The parties to the crime are many. Let them produce the clip of his promenade and a wide angle.”

Reacting to the post, the president’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga, wrote: “You’ve let partisanship cloud your vision and judgment.

“You are now a member of the internet mob, eager to disregard the truth and push false narratives online. You should be ashamed of this post.”

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, commenting on the matter, said:

 “We thought we had seen and heard the worst nonsense from certain characters during the Buhari era when there was a conspiracy theory claiming that former Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari died during a medical treatment in London in 2017 and was replaced by a cloned body double or lookalike called Jubril from Sudan.

“Now, some educated fellow (supposedly) comes up with an outrageous claim that the President’s appearance and speech yesterday at the launch of the APC Campaign Council was pre-recorded.

“Meanwhile, both the local and international Press physically covered the event LIVE. I really don’t know whether to laugh or to cry.

“The signs of mental distress are beginning to be evident on some deluded opposition figures.”

An X user, Olugbenga, questioned the level of pettiness by Odinkalu. He wrote: “Haba, can you imagine this?

“What level of pettiness is this again? He is live there speaking, but it was pre-proceeded in your brain? Hahaha,”

Further confirming the president’s presence, another user, Dr Akanji Olatunde, asked: “If I were you, I would delete the post and move on to some other engagements.

“If President @officialABAT wasn’t there, who did Prof Soludo @CCSoludo, the Anambra State Governor, shake hands with? Everything is not propaganda.”

Hammed Sulaiman, on his part, wrote: “Never underestimate the power of hatred o. It can make a professor do stupid things.”
