The Media has lost another shining light, a few weeks after the death of Ismaila Isa Funtua.
Wada Maida, Chairman, Board of Directors of the Peoples Daily, slumped about 10.00pm on Monday, and passed on. He was in his office earlier in the day, and showed no signs of ill-health.
Wada was, until his death, the Chairman of the New Agency of Nigeria. He was also the Chief Press Secretary to President Muhammadu Buhari in 1985, when he was Nigeria’s Head of State.
A member of the Newspapers Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria, NPAN, he was an Executive Board Member of the International Press Institute, IPI.
Wada 70, was a close associate of Isa Funtua.
