“Some sacrifices are personal, while others are collective. On behalf of the government, I appeal to those who feel hurt to bear with us,” he noted.

The Governor maintained that every decision taken by his administration was aimed at protecting and sustaining the State’s development agenda rather than serving personal interests.

“We want to open up the political and economic space in Imo State for prosperity to thrive. You cannot invite visitors into your home without providing seats for them. We are creating those seats upon which prosperity will sit.”

Uzodimma who acknowledged that governance often comes with difficult decisions admitted that, as a human being, he was not immune from mistakes.

His words: “I am not a perfect human being. I may make unintended mistakes or fail to please some people according to their personal ambitions and aspirations. But I can assure you that there is nothing anyone is passing through for the interest of Imo State that I have not personally experienced.”

The Governor also urged citizens to continue supporting government programmes and policies, insisting that the ongoing reforms would ultimately benefit the State.

“You mandated me to ensure that Imo State thrives in a manner that will become the envy of others. That is what I am doing, and I will not disappoint you,” he added.

Earlier in his homily, the Assistant Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Austin Agowuike urged Christians to remain steadfast in faith despite life’s challenges, reminding them of Christ’s promise of the Holy Spirit as a source of courage and strength.

Reflecting on Jesus’ “priestly prayer,” he said Christ continues to intercede for believers and calls them to unity, love and prayerfulness. “When we share in Christ’s sufferings, we are sure of sharing in His glory.”

The priest also cautioned against allowing artificial intelligence and technology to diminish human dignity and relationships, especially as World Communication Day was celebrated Sunday.

The Service was well attended by stakeholders interested in the Project Imo State across critical sectors.
