The last has not been heard about the election tribunal verdict as the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, cries foul over what they described as the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal’s refusal to release the record of judgment to enable them file their appeal at the Supreme Court.
The Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari was validly elected, a ruling that has become the butt of jokes in the social media due to the reasons adduced for coming to that conclusion. PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, have decided to appeal to the supreme court.
But in a release by Kola Ologbondiyan, their spokesperson, the party claimed that the Tribunal is delaying because they now the party have fourteen days to file the appeal, and the delay might make it difficult for them to beat the deadline.
Below is the copy of the release.
