The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN has announced that there will be power outage in Abuja, on Saturday. The power cut, according to the company is due to some maintenance work it planned to carry out, which will take place between 9 am and 4pm.
The maintenance work will be carried out at the Katampe 132/33 KiloVolt (kV) Transmission Substation, the TCN said in a statement issued on Saturday by the company’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah.
Mbah stated that the scheduled maintenance is to enable TCN’s maintenance crew carry out preventive maintenance on the 100 Mega Volt Ampree (MVA) 132/33kV Power Transformer (TR1), its auxiliaries, and associated switchgear in the substation, saying power will be restored immediately the maintenanec work is completed.
“Consequently, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to off-take bulk power for distribution to customers in parts of Mpape, Maitama, Jahi, Life Camp,” she said.
