The movement said state police will also ensure that community are safe as well as protect businesses across the country.

Ogoloma said a situation where insecurity disrupts the economy, education and businesses will be a thing of the past soon, once State Police comes on board, adding that it will also encourage young Nigerians who want to set up their businesses in a safe environment.

“Young Nigerians do not need another promise of opportunity. They need roads they can travel safely, businesses they can operate without fear and communities where they can pursue their ambitions in peace,” he said.

He also encourage other state Assemblies who are yet to pass the amendment bill notwithstanding that the 24 states threshold have already been met, saying the future of the country and youths depend on safe communities.

The Presidential Working Group on the National Policing Bill had on Friday announced that 24 states Houses of Assembly have passed constitutional amendment to the state police bill, thus securing the required two-third requirement.

By this development, effort at creating state police has met the constitutional threshold of 24 state, being 2/3 ( two- thirds) of the 36 states required to amend the Constitution to take policing from the Exclusive List to the Concurrent list.

Matters under the Exclusive List fall directly under the control of only the Federal Government, while both state and federal governments have mandate to handle matters on the Concurrent List.
