Sanusi: Obasanjo, Omokri Disagree Over Emir’s Removal

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has joined other Nigerians criticising the government of Kano state over the removal of Mohammed Sanusi II as the emir of Kano.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje removed the former CBN governor on Monday and replaced him.with Ado Bayero, his cousin and son of Sanusi’s predecessor

The former emir has now been banished to Nassarawa state.

But in his reaction, the former president said Sanusi did not deserve the treatment met out to him by the Governor Ganduje’s administration.

He stated that the former emir should accept the path he chose for himself with rectitude.

Meanwhile, Reno Omokiri, aide to former President Goodluck  Jonathan said the ex emir deserved what he got.

According to him,  Sanusi has been punished for his conspiracy against the former president.

Sanusi had after his deposition said in a rare broadcast that he accepted his fate, urging the people of the state to remain calm.

My removal is ordained by Almighty Allah, the now banished emir said.
