Atiku Leads ADC Protest In Abuja, Vows To Stop Tinubu’s Dictatorship

ADC Protest in Abuja

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other leaders of the African Democratic Congress, are currently taking part in the protest to the headquarters of Nigeria’s electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Apart from Abubakar, other protesting ADC leaders include ADC factional National Chairman, Senator David Mark; former LP Presidential candidate Peter Obi; former Kano state governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso; former Osun state governor. Rauf Aregbesola; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal amongst others.

They are protesting INEC’s decision to de-recognise the Mark ADC leadership, and the commission’s alleged partisanship in the leadership crisis rocking the embattled political party.

There are now three factions contesting the leadership of the major opposition party in the country. One led by Mark, and two other factions by Dumebi Kachikwu and Nafiu Bala Gombe, respectively.

The contenders have approached the court for settlement.

In his post on his verified X handle, Abubakar said the protest is aimed at safeguarding democracy in the country, and prevent the country from sliding into dictatorship under the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. ’

Abubakar said, “Myself and other leaders of the ADC are peacefully protesting against the partisanship of the electoral umpire. Our patriotic stance is aimed at safeguarding our democracy and preventing the enthronement of a dictatorship.”

The ADC has accused the administration of President Tinubu of dictatorship in the manner he has run the affairs of the country, saying he’s planning is to turn the country into a one party state, after alleging that the government has deliberately targeted opposition political parties in the country with the aim of rendering them comatose ahead the 2027 election.

ADC Says Nigerians Are Hopeless Of Tinubu’s Capacity To End Killings

Nigeria’s major opposition party,  African Democratic Congress, ADC has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to act as the nation’s commander-in-chief  rather than as “chief mourner” of the country.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi made the remark in a post he shared on his verified   X handle @BolajiADC on Tuesday, saying the security problems in the country has worsened despite President Tinubu’s repeated promises to save the situation.

Abdullahi said Nigerians are beginning a feel sense of hopelessness as a result of the president’s many assurances which has so far failed to yield results, leading to the end of killings in the country.

Recall that President Tinubu had during his recent visit to Plateau state, to commiserate with the families of those killed by suspected gunmen, assured the people of the state that nothing of the kind will happen again.

Over 27 persons were killed during the attack, which has been condemned globally.

But barely two days after the president gave assurance that the killings will be stopped, the state was attacked again by suspected gunmen, a situation that’s now generating reactions from not a few Nigerians on whether the government has failed in its capacity to rein in the killers.

The APC spokesperson stated that President Tinubu’s assurances have failed to produce results on the ground, saying the ‘never again’ promise by the president has turned out to be a ruse while the country continues to grapple with killings, abduction and terrorism.

He detailed some killings, abductions and “massacre” that have occurred since president Tinubu came to office in 2023, and how the president assurances have failed to produce results, of tackling insecurity in the country.

Abdullahi wrote: “Every massacre under his watch. Every abduction under his failed leadership. Same script. Same lines. Same outcome.

Dec 26, 2023 — Plateau, ‘Envoys of death will not escape. We will resolve this.’

“Apr 5, 2025 — Plateau/Kwara
‘Enough is enough.’

“Jun 16, 2025 — Benue
‘Enough is now enough. This must not continue.’

“Nov 20, 2025 — Kebbi
‘This should not happen again.’

“Mar 31, 2026 — Plateau/Kaduna
‘Enough is enough. Smash criminals in real-time.’

“Apr 1–2, 2026 — Plateau
‘This will not repeat itself.’

“Six different tragedies. Six presidential promises. Six presidential failures. Zero presidential results.

“And then Easter came.

“Apr 5–6, 2026 — Kaduna. Borno. Plateau. Benue.

“Church attacked. Villages raided. Security forces ambushed. Families buried.

“At this point, hearing “enough is enough” is no longer a statement of reassurance, it is a declaration of helplessness and surrender.

“We cannot continue like this.

“Nigeria needs a real Commander-in-Chief, not a Chief Mourner.”

Obi Media Office Warns Against Plot To Block His Candidacy

Mr Peter Obi

…Says it’s a huge threat to democracy

The Media Office of Peter Obi, the presidential front-runner for the 2027 election and the Labour Party’s candidate in the 2023 election, strongly alerts the nation and the international community to a sinister scheme orchestrated by President Bola Ahmad Tinubu and his ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), aimed at denying Obi a platform for the upcoming January 2027 poll.

According to the Office, the underhanded plan has been in motion since the conclusion of the 2023 election, manifested in deliberate injection of crises into Obi’s Labour Party to prevent him from securing a foothold for the election.

It added that despite Obi’s relentless efforts to restore peace within the party, government infiltrators, aided by a compromised judiciary, have consistently thwarted these attempts.

The Media Office recalled: “In April 2025, the Supreme Court of our land delivered a ruling regarding the rightful control of the party. Yet, the ruling party has cavalierly disregarded this decision, using lower courts to undermine the authority of the Supreme Court effectively. When credible intelligence indicated that internal turmoil would persist until Obi was ousted, he made the difficult decision to exit the party to safeguard its future. As predicted by this scheme, when Obi left on December 31, 2025, the courts that had previously ignored the Supreme Court’s ruling suddenly took action on January 7, 2026, dismissing the meddlesome intrusions of Julius Abure and his faction.

“After fully aligning with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Coalition and bringing renewed vigour to the party, the ruling party escalated its efforts to sabotage him. They pursued bizarre legislative changes that culminated in a detrimental amendment to the Electoral Act, explicitly designed to exert pressure on the ADC and undermine Obi’s presidential ambitions.

“Obi’s visit on March 22, 2026, to the former Governor of Kano State and the 2023 presidential candidate of the NNPP, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, where he was warmly welcomed by Kwankwasiyya members, intensified the ruling party’s hostility toward him.

“The tipping point occurred during the ADC’s resounding rally in Kano on March 30, 2027, where Kwankwaso officially joined forces with the ADC. In a desperate move, the government manipulated the so-called Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reinterpret an Appeal Court ruling, leading to the delisting of the ADC’s leadership and putting Obi and other aspirants at serious risk of being denied a platform.

“The Peter Obi Media Office meticulously documents these alarming developments to inform Nigerians and the international community of this orchestrated manoeuvre to disenfranchise Obi and pave the way for President Tinubu’s uncontested candidacy. They are attempting to create an illusion of democratic choice by propping up surrogates in various political parties while scheming for a one-party system in a nation of over 200 million people with rich diversity.

“For this dictatorial agenda to succeed, it would profoundly disservice to millions of Nigerians—particularly the youth, women, and intellectuals—who desire a transformative vision for Nigeria based on production rather than consumption, curbing waste, and eradicating deep-seated corruption within the system.

“The Media Office of Peter Obi categorically condemns this disturbing trend as a blatant scheme to undermine democracy, establish dictatorship, and continue exploiting the nation’s resources through corrupt practices.

“We emphasise the importance of transparency and integrity in our democratic system. We are dedicated to informing both “Nigerians and the global community about these developments, urging a collaborative approach to strengthen our democracy.

“True democracy allows citizens to make informed choices about their leadership. As we move forward, it is crucial that the voices of the people—especially the youth, women, and intellectuals—are heard and respected. They seek a vision for Nigeria that prioritises production over consumption and works tirelessly to eradicate corruption.

“We therefore call on all stakeholders to uphold the values of democracy, ensuring that Peter Obi has the opportunity to present his vision for Nigeria to the electorate. Together, we can build a brighter future. A NEW IS POSSIBLE”.

Ex Obidient Member, Claims Peter Obi Admitted Losing 2023 Presidential Election, Obidients Call Him Liar, Asks For Proof

By Ayodele Oni

As Nigerians prepare for another round of general elections next year, controversy still trails results of 2023 presidential election as a former member of Obidient Movement claims Peter Obi admitted to members that he lost the Presidential poll.

Lawrence Okoro, an X user who claims to be a former member of the Obidient Movement, alleged that Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, once admitted he lost the election.

However, reacting to the allegation in an interview with TheCable, Yunusa Tanko, national coordinator of the Obidient Movement, challenged Okoro to provide proof of his claims, insisting that no such meeting ever took place.

The presidential election, held on February 25, 2023, was contested by Obi, alongside other candidates, including President Bola Tinubu, who was then the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Obi came third with 6,101,533 votes, behind Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 6,984,520 votes, while Tinubu won the election with 8,794,726 votes.

However, during a press conference in Abuja on March 2, 2023, Obi insisted he won the election and would prove it legally.

“This election will go down as one of the most controversial elections ever conducted in Nigeria,” the former governor of Anambra said.

“The good people of Nigeria have again been robbed. However, I appeal to Nigerians to remain peaceful and law-abiding.

“This is not the end but a beginning… We will explore all legal and peaceful options to reclaim our mandate. We won the election and we will prove it to Nigerians.”

In a post shared on X, Okoro alleged that the former LP presidential candidate later “openly admitted” he “lost the election” due to the failure of party agents.

“Back when I was still part of the Obidient movement, I attended a closed-door meeting with Peter Obi,” he wrote.

“It was a small, selected group, shortly after the elections, as plans were being made around the ‘All Eyes On The Judiciary’ push.

“During that meeting, he openly admitted that he knew he lost the election, largely due to the absence of party agents across polling units to defend the mandate.”

Okoro said the claim surprised him, prompting him to question Obi further.

“I asked a simple question: ‘Sir, if we lost the election, why are we in court?’” he said.

“The room instantly turned on me. You could feel the outrage. Everyone was ready to shut me down, but he stayed quiet and never gave an answer.”

But,  Yunusa Tanko, national coordinator of the Obidient Movement, told The Cable that no such meeting ever took place.

“Can he give us proof of that? Because there was never a time we had that particular discussion,” Tanko said.

“We have always maintained that we won the election and that it was manipulated, based on the fact that from the beginning, the results were not uploaded on INEC’s IReV as at when due. We all knew that.

“Instead of results being shown on the IReV in real time, we only saw pictures of human beings.”

Oyo APC Stakeholders Kick Against Consensus

0
APC Chairman Yilwada

Some stakeholders in the Oyo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have warned that the adoption of consensus as a way of choosing candidates for the 2027 election is capable of backfiring against the party.

The stakeholders from Ibadan South West and North West made the assertion on Tuesday, in the state’s capital, calling on the APC leadership to allow a level playing field for all the prospective aspirants to try their luck.

They made their position known, in a letter signed by 35 constituents from the local government areas, saying APC must listen to them of face the reality of losing the next election in the state.

Their position comes on the back of the decision of the ruling APC to allow its candidate for next year’s election, to emerge through consensus arrangement.

The party’s decision also followed the provision in the Electoral Act that candidates should emerge thorough direct primary and consensus.

But the stakeholders from the two local governments said chosen candidates through consensus will amount to imposition, warning that the decision is capable of jeopardizing the party’s chances in the next election, if not reverse.

They warned APC to reverse the decision to avoid suffering “humiliating defeats” saying imposing candidates will come at a a high cost for the party.

The letter read: “The Electoral Act of 2026 (as amended) stipulates that the aspirants jostling for the elective offices should emerge as candidates through ‘Direct primaries or consensus within the aspirants’.

“However, inasmuch as we subscribe to this position, we, the leaders of both local governments, believe imposition in any form without the consensus arrangement by the leaders and stakeholders may spell doom as it will not be in our interest for unpopular candidates to take undue advantages to enter through back door.

“In retrospect, the party has always suffered humiliating defeats whenever candidates were imposed. Good references were our recurring failures at the polls in 2019 and 2023, respectively. In those election cycles referenced, the imposed candidate, Honourable Saheed Fijabi of the APC, was defeated twice by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Honourable Dhikrulahi Stanley Olajide.

“We should also take a cue from what happened during the bye-election conducted to fill the vacant seat of Ibadan North Federal constituency, where a candidate was imposed on the party members.

“The members went to the poll divided and this led to a monumental failure for our party.

“Consequent upon these experiences, the critical stakeholders within the constituency have deemed it imperative to alert the national headquarters of our party to avert the impending doom of imposing candidates on the party for the 2027 general election.

“Rather, the party should adhere to the principles of constitutional democracy by conducting “direct primaries” in which all members shall participate.

‘This is the only way through which the party can avert bitterness and acrimony among the members, including possible protest votes.”

Meanwhile, the magazine had earlier reported that major stakeholders of the APC had, according to sources, agreed on Senator Sarafadeen Ali as the party’s governorship candidate in the next year’s election, at a recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos.

Obi Raises Alarm Over ₦3.3 Trillion Power Debt Approval, Questions Nigeria’s Electricity Crisis

Presidential hopeful of the African Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, has raised concerns over the Federal Government’s repeated approvals of trillions of naira to settle debts in Nigeria’s power sector, questioning the effectiveness and transparency of such interventions.

In a statement released on April 7, 2026, Obi noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had approved ₦3.3 trillion as a “full and final” settlement of power sector liabilities. He pointed out, however, that similar approvals had been made in the past without clear evidence of execution or impact.

According to Obi, ₦3.3 trillion was earlier approved on May 17, 2024, for the same purpose, followed by another ₦4 trillion bond approval on July 25, 2024, alongside other interventions aimed at addressing the sector’s mounting debts.

He questioned whether these approvals were merely announcements, noting that Nigeria’s electricity supply has continued to deteriorate despite repeated financial commitments. Obi recalled that during the 2023 election campaign, Tinubu had promised improved power supply, yet the situation has worsened, with reports even suggesting potential disconnection of the Presidential Villa from the national grid.

Obi attributed much of the accumulated debt to successive APC administrations between 2015 and 2025, raising concerns about accountability and public financial management. He further observed that government institutions, including the Presidential Villa, owe a significant portion of the liabilities.

Obi also queried why previously budgeted and appropriated funds were not used to settle these obligations when due and whether the government is resorting to additional borrowing to address the issue.

He called for clarity on several key issues, including the actual size of the power sector debt, the causes of its accumulation, and the extent to which inefficiencies among operators contributed to the liabilities. He also questioned who ultimately benefits from the repeated disbursements.

Obi urged the government to move beyond what he described as “recycled announcements” and instead pursue transparent, accountable, and decisive reforms in the power sector.

He warned that without such measures, Nigeria risks remaining trapped in a cycle of debt and inadequate electricity supply, stressing that meaningful progress will require discipline, accountability, and effective leadership.

Kano House Of Assembly Withdraws Impeachment Notice Against Fmr. Dep. Gov. Aminu Gwarzo

Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo - Kano Deputy Governor

By Suleiman Anyalewechi

The Kano State House of Assembly on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, formally halted the impeachment proceedings initiated against erstwhile Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdulssalam Gwarzo.

The withdrawal of the process comes just 48 hours after the former Kano number two citizen joined forces with the opposition Coalition platform, the African Democratic Congress, after resigning from his original political platform, the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP.

The Source reports that the Kano State Lawmakers had, on March 5, 2026, voted to commence impeachment proceedings against Gwarzo, citing alleged gross misconduct, abuse of office and breach of public trust as some of the reasons for their action.

The Legislators alleged that the offences were committed between 2023 and 2024 when the Deputy Governor also served as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

He was alleged to have diverted and misappropriated Local Council funds to the tune of over N1.6 billion.

However, not a few watchers of political developments in the commercial nerve centre of the North, particularly, the new wave of realignments located the impeachment moves in the Deputy Governor’s refusal to follow his principal, Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf in his defection to the All Progressive Congress, APC.

The Deputy Governor, alongside some other Government appointees, and the Kwankwasiyya Movement had preferred to stick with Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the estranged godfather of the Governor, and former Presidential candidate of the NNPP.

However, while other defiant appointees resigned their positions in Government, the former Deputy Governor refused to vacate, a development that forced the Lawmakers to activate the impeachment option.

The Deputy Governor was to finally resign a couple weeks ago, as well as subsequently signing on for the African Democratic Congress, ADC, on Sunday, April 5, at a ceremony in his home town of Gwarzo, Kano North Senatorial District.

He, however, warned that his resignation should not be perceived as an admission of guilt of the allegations leveled against him by the Lawmakers, but rather to allow for  smooth governance in Kano.

The Lawmakers’ decision to withdraw the impeachment notice, according to Hon Lawan Hussaini, the Majority Leader, was pursuant to Order 3, Rule 6A of the House rules and regulations .

The Lawmakers, also, withdrew  all the allegations earlier leveled against the former Deputy Governor.

“We have decided to withdraw the impeachment motion following the voluntary resignation of the former Deputy Governor.

“We have withdrawn all charges against him and the matter is laid to rest” Hon Hussaini stated while addressing the media on the development.

ADC State Chairmen Disown Both Mark, Gombe Led Leadership, Insist On Kachikwu-Led National Executive

African Democratic Congress - ADC

By Ayodele Oni

In a twist, the leadership crisis rocking the African Democratic Congress, (ADC), has attracted stakeholders within as state chairmen of the party disowned David Mark  and Nafiu Bala Gombe to lead the party.

The chairmen said only Dumebi Kachikwu, will be recognized by them to lead the party.

Abia State ADC Chapter Chairman, Don Norman Obinna, who disclosed at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, revealed that the chairmen backed the Independent National Electoral Commission’s(INEC) decision to delist the David Mark-led leadership

He said the state chairmen have dissociated themselves from the David Mark and Nafiu Bala Gombe factions of the ADC.

According to him, the decision was reached on Tuesday at a National Executive Committee, (NEC) meeting held in Abuja.

Obinna, flanked by other state chairmen, said, “We are in total support of INEC in derecognizing the David Mark-led faction.”

He pointed out that the leadership of the ADC, under the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, is legal and authentic.

“ADC has no faction; we are the legal leadership.”

INEC had last week delisted the David Mark-led leadership of the ADC.

The Mark-led leadership had kicked against the development, describing the move as an effort to turn Nigeria into a one-party state.

It said the ADC would continue with its congresses and convention scheduled for 7th to 14th April 2026.

The Director of the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, Mr Aliu Bagudu Abubakar led the defence team with support from several lawyers.

Fagbemi while confirming the decision of the Federal Government on the trial revealed that a total of 227 suspects were put on trial on Tuesday before 10 Judges of the Federal High Court.

He thanked the Judges for sacrificing their Easter holiday to conduct the trial of the suspects.

The suspects were brought to court in loads of trucks with heavy security provided by armed soldiers  Department of State Service DSS operatives and police.

In one of the proceedings  Justice Binta Fatima Nyako sentenced a major foodstuffs supplier to the Boko Haram terrorists in Borno state, Hamatu Modu to 40 years imprisonment for his involvement in terrorism activities.

Modu who confessed in the open court to supplying food items and information to terrorists was put on trial by the federal government through the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.

He was on Tuesday slammed with 4- count charges and instantly pleaded guilty to them.

The Director of the Public Prosecution of the Federation DPPF Rotimi Oyedepo SAN led the prosecution in the court.

In his judgment, Justice Nyako sentenced him to 10 years on each of the four counts but due to plea of the defense counsel, the judge odered that the 40 years imprisonment should run concurrently giving the convict opportunity to spend only 10 years.

In another development, Isah Ali  another food supplier also in Borno was jailed 10 years by Justice Nyako.

His jail term will however start three years ago when he was arrested and clamped into detention.

The convict confessed to committing the offence as charged.

Justice Nyako ordered that the convicts be made to undergo rehabilitation and radicalization at the end of their service of the jail terms.

The Federal Ministry of Interior was ordered to determine where the convicts will serve their jail terms.

In a related development,  Court sentenced a father of three children, Sheu Buka to 20 years imprisonment for selling goats to Boko Haram terrorists in Borno state.

Buka who was put on trial on 5- count charge by the federal government admitted in the open court and in his extra judicial statement that he committed the offense.

Following his denial of four other charges, the federal government withdrew the ones he denied and left him to count three alone.

Justice Nyako after going through the confessional statement and admission of guilt in the open court as well as the investigation report, convicted the defendant and sentenced him to 20 years.

The Judge refused the plea for leniency made by the convict adding that the issue of terrorism has become worrisome in virtually all parts of the country.

According to the court, rendering support to terrorists is a serious offense that must not be condoned.

Similarly, a father of six children, Hamza Yahuza was sentenced to seven years imprisonment for selling indian hemps and cigarettes to Boko Haram terrorists in Borno state.

Yahuza on Tuesday admitted in the open court to committing the offense in  2023 and begged the court profusely for forgiveness.

In the one count charge, the 40 years old convict upon confession sought leniency which Justice Nyako rejected.

The Judge also rejected the claims that it was poverty that pushed him into supplying drugs, indian hemp and cigarettes to the Boko Haram members.

Justice Nyako imposed seven years imprisonment on him but however ordered that the sentence should start from March 6, 2023 when the convict was apprehended and clamped into detention by the federal government.

The trial continues on Wednesday April 8.

Cross River Community in shock, mourns as “Jesus” Dies On Stage

By Stanley Ekpenyong, South-south, Bureau Chief

According to the Bible, Jesus Christ died on the cross of calvary following His crucifixion and resurrected after three days in the grave. However, in Ugep, Yakurr local government area of Cross River state, a “Jesus” has lost his life as he prepared to mount the “cross of Ugep” on Good Friday, and unlike the Biblical Jesus, lays stone death in mortuary currently.

For years, the faithful at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ugep, gather every Good Friday to witness a familiar face carry the cross, reminiscing the process leading to the crucifixion and death of Christ on the cross. According to a local tabloid, CrossRiverWatch, Michael Obetan, fondly called “English Man”, did not just act the role of Jesus Christ, he lived it with a quiet devotion that made the annual Passion Play deeply personal for many.

But this year, the story ended differently- tragically for him. The 40-year-old 2012 Mass Communication graduate of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) stepped onto the stage to act “Jesus” as he always did, committed, prepared, and reverent.

His fellow parishioners recall that  it was a role he had embodied year after year, becoming almost inseparable from the solemn ritual of Good Friday.

Then, in a moment that has left an entire community in shock, tragedy struck, as the “Jesus of Ugep” tragically died on the cross.

Eyewitnesses say the incident occurred during a dramatic sequence involving simulated gunpowder effects. What was meant to heighten the realism of Christ’s suffering reportedly went horribly wrong, as the discharge accidentally struck Obetan in the head while he was still on stage.

Said CrossRiverWatch: “Every year on Good Friday, Mike always takes part in the Passion of Christ drama, playing the role of Jesus. No one imagined this would be the outcome.”

What followed was a desperate race against time. Friends and parishioners rushed him to the Federal Medical Centre in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. But as his condition worsened, he was referred onward to Enugu for more advanced care. The journey, however, ended in heartbreak.

“A close friend who was with him confirmed that Mike passed away on arrival in Enugu,” another source disclosed.

In death, as in life, Obetan left behind a story layered with haunting symbolism.

Just weeks before the incident, on March 23, 2026, he had shared a reflective piece on his Facebook page titled “When Life Feels Like a Closed Tomb,” authored by Fr. Linus Olom.

The message, drawn from John 11:1-45, told the story of Lazarus, a reminder that even in moments of despair, resurrection and hope remain possible.

The post has since taken on a chilling resonance.

It spoke of God’s timing, of pain, and of the call to “come out” from life’s darkest placeswords that friends now read with a mixture of grief, confusion, and painful introspection.

Social media has since been awashed with emotional tributes, many struggling to make sense of the loss. One user, El-donal Obetan, poured out her grief and questioned: “Uncle Mike, did you actually see this before now? If yes, why didn’t you discuss this with anyone or your spiritual father rather than throwing the family in shambles?

“You made us lose our appetite and nothing seems interesting anymore. Death came calling and you couldn’t resist… Have you thought about Dad, Mom, your extended family and loved ones? Bro Mike, why?”

Beyond the stage and beyond the church, those who knew Obeten describe a man who was more than a performer, a pillar, a steady support system, and a dependable presence within his family and community.

Now, in a cruel twist of fate, a man who spent years portraying sacrifice and resurrection has become the center of a story marked only by loss.

And in Ugep, this Easter, the silence after the final scene feels heavier than ever.
