Ramadan: Nigerians Groan, Following Price Hike In Commodities

0

By Akinwale Kasali

Every year, during the period of Ramadan, when the Islamic faithfuls engage in their 30 days obligatory, food prices across the country hiked, making it difficult for many Nigerians to afford what they ordinarily should.

Few days after the commencement of Ramadan fast, the prices of foodstuffs and other essential commodities have escalated in most markets across the country.
Reports have it that prices of foodstuffs and other essential commodities, such as fruits, vegetables, melon and beverages that are in high demand during the Ramadan fast had soared.
Traders attributed some of the reasons for the hike in price to the Ramadan fast, heavy rain in the North, high cost of transportation, amongst others.
In some major markets in Lagos, our checks revealed that the prices of rice, beans, fruits, and beverages have gone up with about 15 per cent.
Yusuf Fatimah said, “Market men and women are used to increasing the prices of food stuffs during this period and this is not supposed to be, although we all know the current economic recession but things should be done rightly.”

Also, Oluwafikemi Falana said, “This is my first time of coming to the market since Ramadan started but so far the product has increased a bit”.

For Peace Samuel, “Tomatoes has increased by 50 per cent. Before now, we used to buy it N50 per layer but the price has changed to N100 at the moment,” she bemoaned.

However those who deal in buying and reselling of pepper and tomatoes said a basket of tomatoes which was formerly N10,000 before Ramadan is now being sold for N21,000.

Mrs. Adeyemo Abake said, “In fact, I regretted coming to the market today because the price is frustrating. How can the same basket of tomatoes be N 21,000, instead of 10,000 we used to buy it before Ramadan.”

Let Metuh Not Die In Court

0

By Oji Odu

Olisa Metuh, former Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) may one day die in court. His falls and collapses are increasing by the day whenever he presents himself for defense in the graft case against him.

Monday Morning, May 21, 2018, recorded yet another of such collapse in the court. The incident happened just as he was making his way to the dock for his resumed trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Metuh, who is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in the N400m he allegedly received from the Office of the National Security Adviser in 2014, fell down shortly after the case was called and fainted. The incident happened about 9:01 am in the courtroom.

The presiding judge, Okon Abang, had to stand down the matter to enable the former PDP spokesman receive medical attention.

Why is the fall on the increase? Why is he being denied treatment outside the country bearing in mind the poverty of the nations health system while some others are allowed such privilege? What are both the judiciary and government afraid of if he is allowed to seek medical treatment outside Nigeria?

God forbid, if he gives up the ghost in any of subsequent fall, what will be the explanation of the EFCC, government and whatever interested parties to his family and Nigerians?

Embattled  Metuh who is said to be suffering from spinal cord illness had accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government of preventing his doctors from attending to his failing health.

In a statement, he alleged that besides intimidating Nigerian doctors attending to his health, members of the ruling party had also taken the campaign against him to a United Kingdom hospital to which a letter was addressed depicting him as an enemy of Nigeria. This has led to the rejection of his application to travel outside the country for medical treatment.

Metuh had on last Wednesday, arrived for continuation of his trial before the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, in a wheelchair.

At the resumed proceeding of the continuation of his trial at the Federal High Court, Abuja Division, the former PDP scribe through his lawyer, Emeka Etiaba, SAN, applied to be allowed to travel to the United Kingdom for medical treatment.

In a statement on Tuesday, Metuh lamented the continued denial of his passport for medical attention abroad and the corresponding liberty given to others facing similar charges to undertake pilgrimages and other ventures abroad.

The statement issued on his behalf by Bar. Benchuks Nwosu, the former PDP spokesman, alleged that it was now clear that his case had turned into a media trial for offences committed in the defence of his party.

“We have instances and evidence of these APC controlled agents and agencies directly interfering with the various hospitals that have admitted Chief Metuh in the last two months, but the latest is the letter written by APC to the Wellington Hospital, London, U.K, depicting our client as an enemy of the Nigerian state and one that should not even access to medical treatment abroad.

“The clear fact, as evidenced by his MRI report, is that Chief Olisa Metuh has severe spondylosis with disc herniations, cord and nerve root compressions in his Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbosacral spine. This has resulted in semi-paralysis and we have even gone further in open Court to request that the prosecution be allowed to conduct their own independent clinical examination of the person involved.

“Our Client has not left the confines of a hospital or his own bedroom for the past two months except to attend Court proceedings. He spent several hours in Court on the 14th of March, 2018 and had to be taken straight to hospital to be sedated with pentadine injection and other strong pain killers. In order to be present in Court on subsequent days (15th and 16th of March 2018) he also had to take the strong pain killer injections early morning before the sittings. This however, resulted in our Client being semi-drowsy on the 15th and 16th and was clearly unable to even observe or follow the proceedings in open Court.

“In any case, are these people not aware that it is only in Chief Olisa Metuh’s matter that the issue of release of passport for an accused person has been such an impossibility?”

He regretted that recently, a Court released the passport of an accused person being prosecuted by the same EFCC to enable him attend a conference abroad, while others have been allowed to go for medical check- up abroad and even for pilgrimage.

“We believe strongly that these media trials are geared towards convincing the public that a man whose charge is that he “reasonably ought to have known” that the money given to him was part of an unlawful activity of another individual who has not even been questioned, investigated or charged is already guilty and convicted even before he has given his evidence in the matter.

“Our Client, Chief Olisa Metuh has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been making his case on his innocence. He has applied the highest level of comportment in showing his respect for our legal system. His only worry remains his plea to be allowed to have a definitive treatment of his worsening ailment. He has suffered humiliation and pain simply by being obedient to court orders.

“The fight against corruption does not imply persecution, manifest wickedness and lynch mob approach to particular individuals,” he added.

The Magazine learnt that even after appeal by the House of Representatives for Metu to be allowed foreign medical treatment, both the judiciary and interested parties have refused. What are their fears? Is Metu still a power to be reckoned with politically?

In a chat with Samson Adekunle, a political analyst: “ Those he stepped on their toes as former PDP Publicity Secretary are fighting back. They are hell bent on finishing him up that he may have lost all political relevance after they left him. We pray they don’t over do it so that he will not die one day in court.”

Popular Blogger, Linda Ikeji Is Pregnant

By Akinwale Kasali
Popular blogger, Linda Ikeji is heavily pregnant and expecting her first child.
The picture of the blogger went viral after her sister who is also a fashion blogger, Laura Ikeji, posted the picture on her instagram page.
Laura posted the picture of her sister, Linda, with a caption titled: see who’s gonna be a mummy, Congrats Lin .
It would be recalled that the blogger went off market after she got “hooked” by her former boyfriend.
Before her pregnancy, the controversial blogger has had series of celebrities to contend with, following her reportage and stories about them.

Linda engaged in a social media war with Wizkid, Olamide, 9ice, Funke Akindele, Chris Okotie, Tonto Dikeh, Richard Mofe Damijo, Jim Iyke, Toke Makinwa, Yemi Solade and Leke Adeboye.

Frontline cleric, Pastor E. A. Adeboye’s son, Leke, also had grievances with Linda, after she published a story that his wife was pregnant.
At the time of publishing the story, Leke and his wife had already welcomed their child. He took to his Twitter page to write, ‘We done had the baby already. For real gist, follow me. Your source is slow and very unreliable.’

Popular cleric, Chris Okotie, also had his fair share of ‘beef’ with Linda, when she published a story that the pastor who presides over the Household of God Church supports Christians having tattoos. Okotie later issued a public statement in which he wrote, ‘As you read this, a casual remark made by Rev. okotie in response to a parishioner’s question on the propriety of Christians having tattoos was twisted to portray the man of God as endorsing the untoward practice. One Linda Ikeji used her blog to promote this falsehood…’

Veteran actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), was incensed when Linda reported in 2012 that he built a N250million home in Ikeja.

In his reaction, RMD, who was a Commissioner in Delta State at the time, wrote, ‘It has been brought to my attention that one Linda Ikeji character who I understand is a gossip has put up a story about my N250m…I’d like to sound a warning to her to desist from fabricating stories about me and get a life…’

Jim Iyke was so annoyed when Linda published a story that didn’t go down well with him, he tweeted, ‘It’s my handle and my space. I do with it what I please. If that hermaphrodite witch, Linda and her lame employees don’t like it, then hug a transformer!’

2018 World Cup: Morata, Nainggolan Dropped By Spain And Belgium Respectively

0

By Akinwale Kasali

With less than four weeks to the commencement of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, participating countries at the mundial has been springing up surprises with the provisional lists of players chosen by respective countries to hoist their flags at the tournament.

Alvaro Morata was the big name missing from Spain’s World Cup squad announced by manager Julen Lopetgui in Madrid few hours ago.

The forwards on duty for the 2010 world champions in Russia are Isco, Marco Asensio, Lucas Vazquez, Iago Aspas, Rodrigo Moreno and Diego Costa.

Spain play Portugal, Iran and Morocco in Group B at Sochi.

Belgium have left midfield creator Radja Nainggolan out of their World Cup squad, coach Roberto Martinez said on Monday.

The absence of Nainggolan, who scored twice for Roma in the second league of the Champions League semi-final against Liverpool this month, was the biggest surprise in the 28-player list that will be reduced to 23 before the tournament.

Belgium face England, Panama and Tunisia in Group G at the World Cup.

The heavily tattooed 30-year-old has played 30 times for his country and is popular with supporters, but his relationship with Martinez has often been strained.

The Spanish former Everton manager said: “It was a sad and difficult decision. He is a player with a lot of class and he was voted Roma’s best player, but I’ve made my decision for purely tactical reasons.

“I have put in place a specific system that works. I can’t use Radja in a secondary role.”

Martinez said he had travelled to Rome to explain his choice to the player.

Nainggolan: Dropped by coach Roberto Martinez

In Nainggolan’s place, Martinez has picked 21-year-old Youri Tielemans, who has had a low-key season at French club Monaco.

The decision to omit Nainggolan was criticised by former Belgian international Philippe Albert.

“We must be the only country in the world to be making the trip without one of the best players in the world. This is not the way to become world champions.”

Manchester City’s veteran defender Vincent Kompany is included, as is Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen, despite both being dogged by injuries this season.

Divock Origi, the Liverpool striker who has spent the season on loan at Wolsfburg, was left out.

Belgium face Portugal in a warm-up friendly on June 2.

How AGIS Defrauded a Diaspora Nigerian

0

By Chidiebere Onyemaizu

An Imo state born United Kingdom-based Scientist, Bernard Muoneke is not a happy man. Muoneke who relocated to Britain nearly two decades ago is regretting his decision to heed federal government’s call few years ago on Diaspora Nigerians to think home.

A native of Amagu, Oru east local government area of Imo state, Muoneke is one of Diaspora Nigerians who purchased land few years ago at the Pyakasa Diaspora village, Abuja in response to federal government’s plea for them to identify with their country and who are now accusing the Abuja Geographical Information System, AGIS of scam and fraud.

Some of the Diasporas allege that AGIS is fraudulently withholding their Right of Occupancy (R of O) and certificate of Occupancy (C of O) because it has reallocated their properties to other people despite fulfilling all the necessary requirements for land acquisition in the FCT, including making huge monetary payments.

According to them, the unspeakable fraud by AGIS has led many of them to regret their decision to make Abuja home by paying for plots of land at the Pyasaka Diaspora village, in response to federal government call few years back. They told the magazine that love for fatherland made many of them to heed federal government’s clarion call on them to think home and identify with their country. Thus, Pyakasa, a 64 hectre land  located in the suburb of the Feedral Capital terrority was set aside for this purpose by former president Olusegun Obasanjo through FCT former Minister and now Kaduna state governor, Ahmed Nasir el Rufai who designated it as Diaspora village and allocated it to Diaspora Nigerians who were willing to pay and acquire properties there.

However, controversies, protest and allegations of scam and fraud against AGIS and their alleged collaborators have dogged Pyasaka with some of the supposed beneficiaries of the Pyasaka project lamenting that their own country has defrauded them.

Mouneke in 2007 bought a plot of land located at plot 41 Pyakasa Diaspora Village C14 with file number AN24515 but till this moment AGIS has refused to issue him with his R of O and C of O in order to take possession of the land . All his efforts to obtain the documents have proved abortive as he was told pointedly by AGIS that the documents have been collected on his behalf by a Diaspora Nigerian who they refused to name. Muoneke however, told the The Source  that there was no time he mandated anybody to collect the documents on his behalf. According to him, “AGIS is being economical with the truth in its desperate effort to sweep the fraud it perpetrated against me under the carpet”.

Muoneke is sad that his decision to identify with his roots has turned nightmarish. Though he is on the verge of dragging AGIS before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, the UK-based Imo indigene is calling on President Muhammadu Buhari, FCT Minister, Muhammed Bello, the National Assembly and Senator representing him in the Senate, Senator Hope Uzodinma to intervene in what he described as “naked injustice against me, fraud and scam in AGIS as regard Pyasaka Diaspora village”

Bernard Muoneke, a UK-based Scientist
Bernard Muoneke: AGIS defrauded me

His narration: “I met all the requirements stipulated therein having paid fully for the plot of land, and up to date with all demands for ground rent. I travelled to Abuja in January 2016 to collect my Right of Occupancy (R of O) and Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) to enable me take possession of my land but was told by officers at Abuja Geographical Information System that a member of Nigerian Diaspora America has collected it. They did not tell the name of the person. I can confirm that I did not authorize anybody in Diaspora to collect any document on my behalf and I don’t understand how they could have given my land document to an unauthorized person”

Muoneke said his letter to AGIS’ Director of land demanding his land documents was acknowledged yet no action was taken to address his complains. Determined to get to the root of the matter, Mouneke then wrote letter of appeal to the Chairperson, House Committee on Diaspora, Honourable Rita Orji pleading with her to look into Pyasaka land controversy. In a brief reply to The source’s inquiry over Mouneke’s case as well as issues surrounding the entire  Pyaska Diaspora village, the federal lawmaker confirmed receiving complaints  from some Diaspora Nigerians over Pyasaka. Her words: “I have some complains from Diasporans”

In the last few years, AGIS has been enmeshed in high voltage fraud linked to land scam. For example during the administration of former FCT minister, Bala Muhammed, six AGIS top shots were suspended for fraud. The suspended staff members were accused of swindling hundreds of millions of naira from thousands of prospective land owners.

In a report after six months of comprehensive review of the FCT administration published  sometimes ago by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Offences Commission, ICPC, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) administration was identified as a major centre of fraud and corruption characterized by “forgeries and cloning of land document,” with AGIS as one of  the chief culprits.

Essentially, the report revealed that staffs of the AGIS, the Land Administration Department, and the Department of Development Control are blameworthy of “abuse of power, conflict of interest, bribery, fraud, and favouritism” among “negative acts” that have “high probability of occurrence in their operations.”

Upon assumption of office, one of the current FCT minister’s immediate actions was the sack of  Jamila Tangaza as the Director of AGIS.Tangaza who was appointed by the immediate past FCT Minister,Bala, was being  investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged diversion of N150 million and over N1 billion stashed in a bank in Nasarawa State using fictitious name, identity and other particulars.

Meanwhile, the Magazine’s efforts to get AGIS officials, including the current Director, Adamu Hussaini to speak on the Mouneka’s allegations and the Pyasaka controversy failed as inquiries made to them via emails, sms and phone calls were not replied.

The Making of Alhaji Yinusa (Yemi) Osinbajo?

0

By Oji Odu

There cannot be a smoke without fire. In a country where Sharia laws are allegedly forced on non Muslim Youth Corpers serving in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo being pressurised by powers that be in high places, who have a firm grip on Nigeria’s government to denounce his faith as a Christian, ‘Born Again and Holy Spirit filled’ and become a Muslim? If so, what do these powers stand to gain by such act instead of seeking better and more progressive ways of repositioning the nation on higher pedestal?

At a stakeholders meeting at Benue State Banquet Hall, Markudi, on Wednesday, some Christian clerics had raised the issue of his assumed lackadaisical attitude towards the incessant herdsmen killings whereby Christian communities are allegedly being overrun and desolated while the people are made displaced. This had increased their fears that the Pastor- Vice President is under pressure to Islamise.

Reacting particularly to the speech by Bishop William Avenya of the Gboko Diocese of the Catholic Church who said God would hold him responsible if he failed to act on the increased herdsmen killings in the zone and others, Osinbajo refuted the allegation, stating that nothing will ever make him to denounce his Christian religion. He also debunked the allegation that the herdsmen killings et cetera are an agenda to Islamise Nigeria.

“As a matter of fact, I’m also a priest and I’m a Christian, a born-again Christian. Because I’m a born-again Christian, my destiny is not determined by any man but by God whom I serve. Let me assure you that under no circumstances, none whatsoever, will I give up my faith or refuse to stand up for my faith. You can take that to the bank.

“Even the position that I currently occupy, I did not ask for it and I’m prepared to leave it at a short notice. It doesn’t mean anything.

“Some people have suggested that there is an agenda; I heard the very eloquent words of Dr. Magdalene Dura who said this is an agenda. The suggestions that have been made that, indeed, there is ethnic cleansing and all of that – but let me say to you that although I do not accept that, but the only way that we can prove that there is indeed no agenda is to protect the people, it’s to fight for justice and to rebuild where there has been destruction.

“That’s the only way to prove it. As I said to you, I do not accept and I do not believe that there is an agenda. No one will deliberately kill his own people. No one will do so. I became a born-again Christian after I became a professor, a professor of the law of evidence, a professor of proof.

“But when the Lord Jesus Christ met me, He persuaded me by showing me clearly that there is such a thing as the evidence of faith that are not seen. It is because of the evidence of things that are not seen, it is because you can make something out of nothing that I stand here today as vice president.

“How possible can anyone say that the killing of women and children doesn’t matter because he is vice president or because he is president? How is that possible? Certainly, it cannot be for a person who is born again. A renewed mind will know that there is justice, there is consequence even if there is no justice here on earth”, he said.

Further, he added: “But we cannot bring back the dead, but we can make life more bearable for the living. This is why coming here today at the behest of the president is first, to look at the situation myself, to get a first-hand view of the situation, because the president has mandated me to take this on board and deal with the issues.

“But we must not be afraid of the truth and history so that we do not arrive at a half solution. If we sound as if this problem started with this administration, then the solutions that we proffer will not last.”

While condoling the Catholic Church on the recent killing of the Priests and worshippers, Osinbajo noted that “It is important for us to know that in order to solve this problem, we must dig deep to the root, otherwise we will find a half solution, people would return to their homes, perhaps there will be peace for another year or two, after a while again it blows out. We must understand that this is a major problem.”

Earlier, in his lamentation, Bishop Avenya cried out: “Mr. Vice President, Benue people are like children without a father, we are in this country as if we are not part of this country.

“Mr. Vice President, try and be a Christian and a committed Christian, do your best to stop these killings and save your name, else, you will have (to bear the) brunt of this issue as one who is not doing anything to stop the crisis.

“Our roads are bad, most times our leaders rush to patch them whenever you are planning to visit us.

“I am not a politician, so I will not paint a bad thing to be good the way other politicians do.”

In her remarks also during the meeting, Dr. (Mrs.) Magdalene Dura pointed out a genocide against the Tiv people, while regretting the poor military presence in the zone.

“There is genocide against the Tiv people across the country, Nigeria has failed Benue.

“Military presence in a troubled area is a right, not a privilege. Those displaced are more (in number) than the ones at the IDPs camps.

“We know our killers, they are Fulani herdsmen, they are Myetti Allah Kautal Hore We have cried but none have been arrested. No justice in Nigeria.

“Leadership has timeline, even if it is 10 years, it will come to an end and leaders shall face their Creator,” she stated.

However, while accusing the Vice President of not doing anything to stop the killings, the question remains: is there anything special the Vice President can do that will help stop the incessant killings, taking cognizance of his position as number two citizen with very small constitutional powers to work with? What do the Priests and other Nigerians backing them want him to do?

In a chat with the Magazine, Felix Ojo, a Human Relations expert said: “ At this time, everybody has the right to express his views and anger. Osinbajo is the Vice President in a country where his position has little or no power to operate. He is advisory and cannot do much.

“ However, in advanced societies which Nigeria is speedily becoming, he cannot just be seen to stand aloof to the killings and always trying to explain things. If he is touched as claimed by the killings, they want him to resign his position, a move that can speed up actions to check the killings. You don’t blame anyone who feels he may be under pressure to dump his religion. Unfortunately, resignation seems not only un-Nigerian, it is un-African.”

Adding, Ojo said that if there may have been plans to Islamise Osinbajo, the interaction with the Christian clerics in Benue would have checked it, even if briefly. Also, the Vice President cannot afford to resign now because of the damage it will do to the unity of Nigeria, bearing in mind the reasons he has given to elicit it.

Fate of Nigeria Airways Workers May Jeopardize New National Carrier

0

By Uche mbah

The war of words between the former staff of the defunct Nigeria Airways and the Finance minister Kemi Adeosun may have sent distressing signals to the general public that the much touted New National Carrier may not take off despite assurances and plans for the later.

The Finance Minister had said that there has been no presidential approval for the release of funds for the settlements of arrears of pension and other emoluments, which she put at a total cost of N45billion. But in a swift reaction, the ex workers faulted the minister, saying that the approval had come during the Federal Executive Council meeting of September 20, 2017. Stories had been awash in the news that the workers terminal benefits are ready. But in a tweet, the Minister had insisted that there had been no approval by the presidency for the payment.

” There has been a misconception in the media that the president had approved the payment of N45billion terminal benefits to the ex-workers of Nigeria Airways. I should make it clear that there is no presidential approval and no appropriation yet for the payment”, Adeosun tweeted. “The terminal benefits of ex-Nigeria Airways workers are also part of the outstanding inherited debts. These benefits have been reconciled and agreed at N45billion, following verification. But we don’t have presidential approval yet for the payment. It also has to be appropriated,” she concluded.

But there are indications that the Minister had been at best economical with the truth, as sources from the ministry indicated that the approval has been given. “She even wrote the Minister of state for aviation to intimate him of the approval”, the source said.

This, according to the source, was to settle all hiccups that is being experienced by the Aviation industry before concluding with arrangements for the new National Carrier. It was noted that preliminary arrangements have been done to purchase an initial four aircrafts on wet lease from the United States as the nucleus of the new Carrier. Part of the Government promise was that the Presidential fleet will be seconded to the carrier as starting point but that seems unlikely and, with the Minister dancing one corner with approvals, it may be a big hiccup to the new carrier.

Why Senator Hope Uzodinma’s Men Stole Electoral Materials

0

By Chidiebere Onyemaizu

Apart from bringing bad publicity to Senator Hope Uzodinma representing Imo West (Orlu Senatorial District) in the Nigerian Senate, Engineer Innocent Ikpamezie’s arrest has led to the unearthing of the untold story surrounding the Senator’s recent defection from his party to the ruling party.

Essentially, having lost grip and structure of the  Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Imo state and faced with uncertain political future, The Source was informed that Senator Uzodinma’s defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC  was a function of promises made to him by Imo APC stakeholders opposed to Governor Rochas Okorocha to the effect that he would be allowed unfettered control of the party in Imo West Senatorial zone and some local governments in Owerri zone in furtherance of his 2019 gubernatorial ambition or in the worst case scenario achieve effortless return to the Senate.

It was gathered that it was in the spirit of this that Ikpamezie, Special Adviser to Senator Uzodinma on Electoral Matters was allegedly an active participant in the stealing of electoral  materials meant for the May 5th APC ward congress in Imo. Ikpamezie’s arrest and subsequent parade, alongside three others involved in the heist prompted hot denial from his principal, Senator Uzodinma.

However, National Assembly source close to the embattled Ikpamezie has expressed sadness and regret over the Senator’s denial of his Aide, likening the situation to the denial of Jesus by his trusted Apostle, Peter.

Paraded alongside Engineer Ikpamezie by Force Headquarters Abuja, were Lawrence Archibong, Kelechi Affonne and Joseph Martins. Force Public Relations Officer, Assistance Police Commissioner (ACP) Jimoh Moshood said the suspects were arrested and paraded for criminal conspiracy, forgery, theft and unlawful possession of electoral materials meant for the APC Imo ward congress.

Items found on them, according to ACP Moshood, include 68 APC ward congress result sheets, six APC Local government result sheets, six APC ward officers and delegates list and 130 APC delegates’ nomination forms.

Ikpamezie and his accomplices were nabbed at Seredib Hotel, Wuse, Abuja while manipulating and entering data into result sheets for the congress for six local government areas in Imo: Ikeduru, Ahiazu Mbaise, Ngor-Okpala, Owerri West, Owerri Municipal and Mbaitolu. Engineer Ikpamezie, described by the police as “the principal suspect”, allegedly revealed that the materials were handed over to him by Dr.Iyke Njoku, Zonal coordinator, Owerri Municipality to Senator Uzodinma.
