Breaking: Pleading Illegal Detention, Orji Kalu Goes Back To Court

0

By Adesina Soyooye

Senate Chief Whip, and former Governor of Abia State, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, who is still in jail, days after he, and everybody, thought he had been granted freedom by the Supreme Court, has gone back to a High Court, asking the Court to enforce his fundamental rights. He says he is being held illegally.

The Senator was, on December 5, sentenced to a 12-year jail term by a Federal High Court, Lagos. The Hon. Justice Mohammed Idris had  found him guilty  of curruption to the tune of over N7 billion while he was Abia state Governor. Aside from sentencing him to jail, he also ordered the forfeiture of his multi-billion Naira business empire, SLOK Group of Companies, to the Federal Government. Convicted along with Orji, in the case brought against them by the EFCC, was the Director of Accounts, Government House, during Orji’s tenure as Governor, Mr Udeogu.

But five months into serving their sentences, pending their appeal to the Appeal Court, a seven-member panel of the  Supreme court quashed the conviction on the grounds that Justice Idris, having been elevated to the Court of Appeal, no longer had any jurisdiction to deliver the judgement at the lower Court, even though he was the one who handled the case until it got to the stage of judgement delivery. The Supreme Court, therefore, ordered that the case be started afresh at the Federal High Court.

Ironically, it was Kalu’s Counsel, Gordy Uche, SAN, who wrote to the President, Court of Appeal, requesting  that Idris be given a fiat to deliver the judgement, since the case was finally coming to an end, having started since 2007. The fiat was granted. Having been convicted, it was the fiat, playing the devil’s advocate, that has given the convicts a reprieve.

The judgement was celebrated by Kalu’s family, friends, kinsmen, and political associates. Kalu himself, was, at once, effusive in his praise of the Supreme Court Justices, and humble in his acceptance of the judgement. He said he had learnt his lessons.

But, almost, two weeks after the judgement that everybody thought spelt freedom for Kalu, he is still in prison while Udeogu has been released.

Not a few people thought that the Prison authorities were waiting for the order of warrant of release from the Supreme court before his release. That was, also, the impression “cunningly” created by the Prison Spokesperson, Mr Njoku. But it turns out  more than that.

When the order of release, finally, arrvived, Kalu’s name was missing. It was for Udeogu, only. Most people were shocked, including Kalu, who, after four days, and still in jail,  asked his supporters to keep calm.

But, here is why.

Kalu did not appeal to the Supreme Court pleading non jurisdiction on the part of Justice Mohammed Idris. Only Udeogu did. The judgement was ,therefore, on Udeogu’s appeal. The victory was for him. He pursued his own case. Indeed, Udeogu had, also, some weeks ago, been granted bail on health grounds.  He contracted a bad case of tuberculosis in jail. But he was still not released because he had not met his bail terms. The Supreme Court judgement came to him as a big relief.

When the judgement came, everybody, including an angry  EFCC, thought it was for Kalu. The Commission had immediately indicated its readiness to go back to Court and face Kalu. But lawyers say the Supreme Court is not a Father Christmas, and could not have released Kalu who did not ask the Court for anything.

Stung, Kalu had, on Wednesday, gone back to a High Court to ask for the enforcement of his fundamental rights. He says he ought to, and should have gained from the Supreme Court ruling. He, therefore, says he is now an illegal detainee, and, asks to  be released from the illegal imprisonment.

The next couple of weeks will tell, as all eyes are, now, focused on the High Court.

Dokpesi Casts Doubt On COVID-19: “What Is The Difference Between Malaria And COVID-19?”, He Asks

0
Raymond Dokpesi

By Gideon Njoku

Is the outbreak of the Coronavirus in Nigeria a big scam? Are the scary increasing numbers of victims a big scam? Is anybody playing on the intelligence of Nigerians?

A good number of people, particularly, from the masses think so. A couple of well-placed Nigerians, including at least, two governors think so, even if they shied away from hitting the nail on the head. Indeed, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, was  reported, weeks ago to have said  what we have is Malaria. Perhaps, he meant the cases of some of those discharged at the time.

But from another privileged corner, on Thursday, came the biggest doubt cast on the virus.

The doubt came from media mogul and  high profile politician, High Chief Alegho Raymond Dokpesi. He spoke publicly. If anybody should know, even though he is not a medical personnel, it is Dokpesi.

Dokpesi  spoke from personal experience. He was a victim.

13 days ago, Dokpesi, his two grandchildren, his daughter-in-law, and four others were evacuated from his Abuja residence to an isolation centre at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada. They had tested positive for the COVID-19, a Virus  which has shut the world down.

His son, Raymond Dokpesi Jnr., the one now running the DAAR Group, which his father founded,   had, days earlier, tested positive for the Virus, and evacuated to that isolation centre.

On Thursday, twelve days after his evacuation, the media mogul and his two grandchildren were discharged from the isolation centre, having tested negative, and certified free from the ravaging virus.

Ushered into his expansive  compound  by jubiliating family and staff members with cheers and praise songs to God, an overwhelmed, and, almost, emotional Dokpesi, thanked everybody that showed him love and care while he was in isolation, especially, the medical team, and his high profile friends.

Then, he dropped the bomb.

He cast a doubt on the existence of Coronavirus (in Nigeria), more than hinting that it could be nothing than a bad dose of malaria.

Dokpesi: “I still have doubts in my mind. And I still want to be properly educated. I am a bloody mechanic. (He is a Mechanical Engineer, with a PhD in his field of specialisation). What is the difference between COVID-19, which is a Virus and Malaria which is mosquito bite?. Because every medication I was given was malaria medication.

“Even some people went,  before being told that they were COVID-19 positive,  they were tested  in reputable  laboratories in Abuja, they were tested in  hospitals in Abuja,  and what  they found was that they have a lot of Malaria parasites in their blood.

“So, when  did malaria become synonymous with COVID-19? That is food for thought”.

Since Dr Dokpesi’s question and doubt, there has been no reaction from the Minister for Health, the Director General of the NCDC, or the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

“Why I will Never Forgive John Mikel Obi – Mark Clattenburg”, British Top Referee

0
Mark Clattenburg - British Top Referee

By Akinwale Kasali

Its close to Eight years since Chelsea Football Club, and Manchester United Football Club both of England, traded tackles in the Barclays English Premier League. It was on October 28th, 2012.

The Red Devils surprisingly defeated the Stamford Bridge occupants, winning 3-2. The Chelsea duo of Branislav Ivanovic and Fernando Torres, were sent off the field by Mark Clattenburg the center referee. But the memories of that fierce match still remains green in the memory of Clattenburg.

That match could have been the end of the illustrious referring career of Clattenburg. But he went on to  officiate the 2014 FIFA World Cup Finals, 2016 UEFA Champions League Final and 2016 European Nations Championship.

That end would have come because of an allegation of racism levelled against him by former Super Eagles Captain and former Chelsea Midfielder.

Chelsea had lodged an official complaint at the FA after Mikel accused Clattenburg of making a racist comment during that match.

He received series of threats from the Chelsea fans, and supporters of Mikel and Africans, who stood in support of Mikel over the racist allegation levelled on Clattenburg.

It, however, took the intervention of the English Football Association that did a thorough investigation to unravel the truth and ascertain whether there were racial abuse or comments made by the center referee on Mikel.

This development helped Clattenburg develop a thick skin, but he still came close to quitting following the fallout from Chelsea‘s clash with Manchester United in 2012.

Clattenburg became one of the most high-profile referees in the game once he began officiating in the Premier League in 2004, enjoying a 13-year career despite a number of controversial moments.

Mikel was, however, found out to have concocted those allegations and Clattenburg was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing.

Mikel was given a three-match ban and fined £60,000 for using “threatening and/or abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour”.

Clattenburg says  looking back on the incidents in the Chelsea v Manchester United game of 2012 and its aftermath, he almost  quit, but he was not in a position to do that.

“I have a family, they need to be looked after. I had left my profession as an electrical engineer behind, and there was nowhere to go if I walked away from refereeing.

“This is a unique job in many ways and not always for the right reason. If you are a player or a manager or even a journalist, you can always get a job somewhere else if something goes wrong, but you can’t do that in refereeing.

“If I had quit in 2012 amid that storm around the Chelsea v United game, where would I have gone? In refereeing, you are stuck in an industry you can’t get out of and that is a difficult place to be in.

“Who is going to employ me in a job outside football given my profile and the like? That is why I had to take the offer to move to Saudi Arabia when it came my way, as it offered me security to my family.

“One day the whole truth will come out on what happened in that Chelsea v United game and people will be surprised by that story. It was not a football incident. What I went through that day was not right and it made me realise that football is not just a sport any more.

Clattenburg had even received death threats at times in his career, and he admitted his job could have a knock-on effect on his family.

“I’ve had death threats, my family has been threatened and it is not nice. People say what they are going to do to you, that they know where you live.

“The odds of them carrying out these threats are low, but your children can still read it and that is not nice. When it affects your family, it is a horrible situation and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

“I have picked Mikel because of the incident during a Chelsea v Manchester United match in 2012 when he accused me of making a racist comment, which was not right and I was later cleared by the FA.

Clattenburg says he can never forgive Mikel because he almost ruined his career, stressing that even after the whole issue, when it was clear that Mikel lied, he couldn’t apologised.

“He has never apologised and that is disappointing because it could have ruined my life. I fell out of love with refereeing for a while after that but couldn’t quit because I had a family to support and no other career to pursue.

“It all left a bad feeling that still lingers today.

“Mikel only heard the allegation from his team-mate, Ramires, who did not speak English. Other Chelsea players have since apologised but nothing from Mikel.

“He had the chance to say sorry and speak to me about it during a Nigeria friendly in the United States before the World Cup in 2014, and I would have welcomed that, but nothing, sadly.”

MASSOB Slams Kanu, Accuses Him Of Abandoning Biafra

0

By Tosin Olatokunbo

The time worn rivalry between two Igbo groups fighting for the emancipation of the south east region, MASSOB and IPOB is not about to go away soon, following, the former call on Nnamdi Kanu, to return home to fight for his people.

Kanu fled the country to London, three years ago after soldiers invaded his home in Abia state.

The IPOB leader has however ramped –up his agitation for an independent Biafra state since he left for exile.

MASSOB said the IPOB leader would not be able to achieve Biafra by speaking from London, Canada and America where he now resides.

In an interview with The Punch , MASSOB’S Director of Information, Sunday Okereafor, said it was wrong for Kanu to stay in Canada, United States of America or London and think that he could achieve Biafra from outside Nigeria.

Okereafor also warned Kanu to stop accusing Uwazuruike of thwarting the fight towards achieving a sovereign state of Biafra, adding that the MASSOB leader brought the IPOB leader into the struggle.

According to MASSOB “On Biafra, we stand. Nnamdi Kanu can’t say that he is fighting for Biafra and he is staying in America, London, Canada, Australia.

Every day, he is flying; he should come back home and pay the price.

MASSOB is telling Nnamdi Kanu to come down home and fight for the freedom, rather than hiding abroad. Nnamdi Azikiwe was in Nigeria as Governor General of Nigeria and Muammar Ghaddafi was there fighting for the freedom of his people, Jomo Kenyatta fought for the freedom of Kenyans from Kenya.

Okereafor said the IPOB leader should learn from other freedom fighters particularly, Odimegu Ojukwu, Igbo war time leader who refused to run away during the Nigerian civil war.

He said “Thomas Jefferson of America stayed in America and fought for their own freedom.

So, Nnamdi Kanu should come home; he should bring his own members home and fight, rather than castigating Uwazuruike.

Odumegwu Ojukwu never castigated Michael Okpara and Uwazuruike never castigated Ojukwu. Kanu was an employee of MASSOB. Uwazuruike employed him.

It is now that he wants to be the boss. Does Kanu know about the struggle? No.”

Home School Feeding Is a Scam, SAN Tells Buhari

0

By Fola James

Top Nigerian lawyer, Afe Babalola has faulted the home feeding school policy of the federal government, describing it as a scam.

The Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has earmarked over N13 billion for the programme at a period when school children have been forced to stay at home due to the corona virus pandemic.

Many Nigerians, including parents have also faulted the programme which they claim could lead to the diversion of huge public funds.

The outcry, perhaps, pronged President Buhari, to on Tuesday direct the Department of State Services, DSS, ICPC and EFCC to tract contractors handling the school feeding contracts.

Babalola, a senior advocate of Nigeria and founder of Afe Babalola University, Ekiti state faulted the policy on the basis that the government lacked the requisite data to trace the addresses of the parents of the pupils, the target beneficiaries.

The legal luminary stated this during his congratulatory message to Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, the new chief of staff recently appointed by President Buhari.

He said the funds meant for the project should be channeled to providing support for the health sector so that schools in the country are re-opened.

Speaking in Ado Ekit, the state’s capital, the SAN said “These are some areas which I believe deserve your immediate and urgent attention.”

He said the school feeding funds should be used to purchase Polymerase Chain Reaction Machines, face masks, sanitisers and Serological Test Machines.

Babalola said “These safety measures will enable the higher institutions to reopen because the hygienic status of their campuses would have been enhanced.”

This is the appropriate time for you to recommend to Mr President to immediately put in place measures that will address the aftermath of COVID-19.

This is also the appropriate time to recommend to Mr President to put in place policies and measures that will encourage the production of home-grown vaccines to combat the deadly COVID-19.”

He advised the new CoS to ensure policy change so that President Buhari could get quality advise during his tenure as the  President top adviser.

According to him “Under you as COS, those who have useful advice for Mr President should be allowed easy access to the President.

Your assignment as the COS this time round is coming at a very trying time for Nigeria and the world at large having regard to the raging COVID-19 pandemic and its devastating consequences on the nation’s economy, its education and life generally”.

Most parents have also faulted the policy insisting that their wards are not likely to benefit from it.

In spite of wide spread condemnation of the programme, the minister  of Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq has insisted that the federal government will go ahead with it.

The programme has already kicked off in some northern states, including Ogun, which on Tuesday, received food items from the ministry.

Strange: Ondo Uncovers N4.3 Billion Kept in Bank For Over 10 Years

By Akinwale Kasali

In a revelation that shocked most people in the audience, the Ondo State Government said it has stumbled on the sum of N4.3 billion hidden and apparently forgotten in a hidden account for 10 years and counting.

It has not quite been disclosed how the discovery was made, who hid it, and in which bank, but it is like manna from heaven, and has brought great joy to the State Governor,  Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, and his government, especially now when most states are cash-strapped.

The heart-warming discovery was made known by the State Commissioner for Finance, Wale Akinterinwa, when he appeared before the State House of Assembly, for a briefing.

Akinterinwa said the  N4.3 billion was uncovered when a discreet investigation was carried out by his office.

The money, the  Commissioner said, was  lodged in a third generation bank without due process for over 10 years.

According to the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Donald Ojogo, “We recall that at the inception of this administration, concerted efforts were made to take a comprehensive inventory of all assets and liabilities of Government which include liquidity status.

“This exercise, modestly conducted without the usual noise, was aimed at avoiding sensationalization and needless acrimony. In this regard, all development partners of the Government, including Banks, rendered highly commendable forms of assistance.

“It should be noted that neither the Finance Commissioner nor the Accountant-General was in his present position as at when the said account was opened more than ten years ago.

“The invitation of the Finance Commissioner by the House of Assembly and indeed, same extended to both the State Accountant-General and the Auditor-General, are in line with Government’s desire to make as transparent as possible, the management of our commonwealth in Ondo State.”

But briefing the Assembly, Akinterinwa said the money has been ploughed into the revenue account of government.

He also denied claims that a consultant was hired in the course of retrieving the N4.3bn from the hidden account.

The excited members of the House of Assembly prayed that the money would help to boost the economy of the State, and the well-being of the people.

I Don’t Know Where Chinese Doctors Are, Says Health Minister

Chinese Doctors

Bombshell: The Health minister has claimed ignorance of the Chinese medics that came from china to help in the fight against Coronavirus, saying they are not part of the medical team, and therefore he cannot answer for them.

“I’d be happy if you don’t ask me about them”, Health Minister Osagie Ehanire told journalists in Abuja during the regular coronavirus briefings.

Recall that Allen Onyema, the Air Peace boss, flew to China to bring back medical equipment that will be used in the fight against Coronavirus, and the aircraft brought fourteen Chinese with them against all advice of both the Nigerian Medical Association and the Nigerian Public. The Minister of Health was on ground to receive them at the Airport, and clamor that they must be screened to determine whether they are actually medical practitioners fell on deaf ears. The Chinese ambassador had claimed that they are medical professionals whose bills are footed by the China Engineering Construction Company, CCECC, as their contribution to the fight against COVID 19 since they have the experience.

Currently, China is having a resurgence of COVID 19 in Wuhan.

When the arrived in Nigeria, they were divided into two, with seven in Abuja and the rest taken to Lagos. On coming to Lagos, they refused to be quarantined, until they were taken to the University of Lagos where the quarantine facility was to be. Meanwhile, one had allegedly escaped into town. No one knows what became of that one. At Unilag, more were said to have escaped quarantine. Since then, nothing has been heard of them, hence the recent clamor on their whereabouts.

Responding to questions, The Health Minister, Ehinare said that not all are medical doctors.

“I want to explain that not all of them are medical doctors”, he said. “I heard that some of them are technicians and they are staff of CCECC. The Ministry of Health is not their host so we can’t always explain what happened to them or where they are. There seemed to be a lot of interest in these doctors but they are the staff of a company. I will be very happy if you don’t ask me where they are. They are not really our guests but we have been able to learn something from them. We shared ideas on what they did in their country in managing COVID 19”, the Minister concluded.

PDP Labels FG’s School Feeding Programme, A Scam

0

..Says It’s Sacrilege To Steal With Children

By Akinwale Kasali

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has taken a swipe at the President Muhammadu Buhari Government and his Party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, alleging that the School Feeding Programme is a scam.

The PDP Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbodiyan, said that claims by the Federal Government, even when schools are shut due to the pandemic Covid-19,  is a huge scam, and a scheme by APC leaders and some officials in the Buhari Presidency to allegedly siphon a targeted N13.5 billion public funds to finance their wasteful and exuberant lifestyle.

Ologbodiyan stressed  that it was  disgraceful, demeaning, sad and  pathetic that the APC Government will stoop so low by  using inocent school children as cover to funnel not less than N679 million daily to private purses.

The PDP added that it was sacrilegious, wicked and completely unpardonable.

“While it is clear that the APC-led administration’s school feeding programme had always been a scam, the claims to feed school children even when schools are closed is a collosal racketeering taken too far.

“This goes to further expose that stealing and corruption are deeply engrained in the DNA of the APC and its administration.

“While the PDP has nothing against any transparent effort to provide succor to Nigerians, particularly our children, at this critical time, our party rejects the on-going fraud in which school children, who are in their respective homes, bearing the brunt of the failures of the APC administration, are being used as metaphors to divert public funds to a few corrupt individuals in the Buhari Presidency”.

The PDP stressed that Nigerians are witnesses to how the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Umar Farouq, always stammer, making conflicting pronouncements and points to Mr. President’s speech as a cover each time Nigerians demand for details of the humongous spending.

The PDP described the Minister as a failure, stressing that  the Minister failed to provide details of how she intends to reach the 9.7 million school children, who are now in their homes in different locations since the closure of schools, even as officials continue to muddle up required documentations in a bid to cover their tracks.

“Nigerians are invited to note how the minister contradicted herself in claiming that the food would be shared door-to door and in the same breath, averred that vouchers would be allocated at specific collection times to “avoid overcrowding.

“Such contradiction only betrays an unwholesome tendency, as Nigerians wonder how there would be overcrowding on door-to-door distribution of food to children who are claimed to have been individually designated in various locations.

“Our party notes that critical stakeholders in the education sector, including the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) and Concerned Parents and Educators (CPE) had also raised queries over this fraudulent scheme, which is already going the way of the N500 billion Social Investment Programme of the Buhari administration which the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, had earlier exposed as a huge scam.”

The PDP said it is worried that with the constant reference to President Buhari’s speech, it is clear that unscrupulous officials are cashing in on the situation to fleece the nation.

It, however, pointed out that if the officials indeed meant well for the school children, they should hand over the funds to the ministry of education in the respective states for appropriate dispensation, disbursement and to properly identify and document vulnerable children.

“Our party, therefore, urges President Buhari to take urgent steps to end the corruption that has pervaded his administration, particularly the use of innocent Nigerians as cover to steal public funds”, the PDP stated.

Imo Denies N8m To Herdsmen; Warns Against Deliberate Lies & Misinformation; To Take Action

0
Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State

By Charles Igbo

The Imo State Government has said it may be forced to take serious actions against deliberate falsehood and lies aimed at inciting the people against the Government. It said it definitely knows where the dissemination of such false publications are coming from, and may take action as a deterrent to such mischief.

The Government was reacting to a viral, false, statement, to  the effect that the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, had given the Miyetti Allah the sum of N8million as compensation for cows, allegedly, stolen  and/or killed at Ezinihitte, Mbaise.

The story came in form of a Press Release, purportedly issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser, Media, to the Governor, Oguwuike Nwachuku.

But in a strongly worded statement issued on Thursday, and signed by Nwachuku, the Government denied any such payment, or any such meetings with anybody, and decried the constant use of the name and office of the CPS/SA to perpetrate crime, reminding those concerned that forgery is serious crime.

The Statement recalled how a false statement was also issued in the wake of the passing of Malam Abba Kyari, until his death, the Chief of Staff to the President, that Uzodinma had renamed the Imo State University to Abba Kyari University.

Pointing accusing fingers at the main opposition party in the State, the Government also denied encouraging Almajiris, in anyway, to settle in the state, and warned that it would henceforth take legal action as a deterrent to such mischief.

Following, excerpts from the Press Statement.

“The attention of the Office of the Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma has been drawn to fake news making the rounds on social media, purporting that Imo State Government paid ₦8m to Fulani herdsmen, who allegedly lost their cows at Ezinihitte Mbaise.

“In the said fake news, the criminals also purportedly wrote that the Governor met with the leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) at the Government House, Owerri.

“Those who generated the obvious fake news also criminally signed off for the Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser, Oguwike Nwachuku, in a desperate attempt to legitimise their criminal intent and have the buy-in of the public.

“This is not the first, nor will it likely be the last, time agents of the opposition will criminally issue a statement purporting same to

have emanated from the Office of the Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser. They did when former Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari died and, in their warped mentality and hallucination, renamed the Imo State University after Kyari.

“Their intention then was to deploy misinformation to discredit the government of Governor Uzodimma

and cause disharmony between the government and the good people of Imo State. They failed!

“Again, today, May 14, 2020, the same people whose stock in trade is to disseminate false reports on social media to satiate the appetite of their paymasters have been paid to do what

they and their sponsors are good at: criminality. Again, they have failed!

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Government of Imo State under the watch of our able Governor Uzodimma does not know what the sponsored criminals are talking about as regards the purported payment of ₦8m and meeting.

“The Office of the Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser, therefore, dissociate itself from the

purported press release and purported payment, the imaginary meetings between the Governor and MACBAN, and the gibberish associated with the non-existent meetings.

“While the government is very much committed to a society, where constructive criticism helps to bring development, it will continue to have zero tolerance for people who deploy criminality and subjective criticism with the intention of misinforming and misleading the public.

“It is a shame that the purveyours of fake news on the current Imo State Government have sold their consciences that one wonders if Mac Zukerberg, the founder of Facebook and also owner of Whatsapp, will not be wondering if they are under spell.

“On a day Imo people are reflecting and rejoicing over nearly one billion Naira that has been traced to be in dormant accounts in one bank alone due to the recklessness of the past administrations, a gang of sponsored social media zealots are busy orchestrating fake news, just to divert attention and cause disharmony. What a shame?

“The government of Governor Uzodimma is irrevocably committed to good governance and will not be

distracted, not even by the resort to fake news by the opposition and their agents as a blackmail tool.

“The public in general and Imo people in particular should, therefore, ignore every fake news meant to misinform them about Imo State Government activities, more so, as Governor Uzodimma is not interested in telling anybody lies. The era of deceit is gone.

“We also caution the reading public to be wary of fake news materials they are quick to help the criminal-minded propagandists, blackmailers and enemies of development share on social media as doing so will portray them as accomplices.”

Breaking: Man Gets N10m For Suing Buhari’s Daughter

A federal high court in Asaba, Delta state has slammed a N10 million fine on the Department of State Services, DSS for illegally detaining Anthony Okorie, for purchasing sim card once used by President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter, Hanan.

Okorie had in January sued the DSS for his illegal detention.

He also demanded N500 million from Hanan as well as MTN, the telecommunications company from which he purchased the sim card.

Details later………..
