Reps Back Establishment of Nigeria’s First Green And Climate Finance Bank

The House of Representatives Committee on Renewable Energy, has welcomed the initiative to establish Nigeria’s first dedicated Green and Climate Finance Bank, a specialised financial institution designed to accelerate the country’s transition to a low-carbon, green economy.

This announcement was made during a press conference held at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, where Hon. Afam Victor Ogene, Chairman of the Committee, emphasized that the proposed Bank would serve as “a strategic national instrument to attract climate investment at scale and position Nigeria as a continental leader in sustainable finance.”

Hon. Ogene stated that this development is consistent with the mandate of the Committee on Renewable Energy, which has been tasked by the 10th House of Representatives with, inter alia, “formulating policies and initiatives to accelerate investment in renewable energy technologies, among other oversight responsibilities.”

The lawmakers further disclosed that during interactions “with stakeholders in the renewable energy sector at different fora, financing was consistently identified as a major challenge. Stakeholders noted that accessing finance remains a significant obstacle, whether for developing local technology, bridging knowledge gaps through training, or procuring goods and services in the sector. In this context, the establishment of a financial institution dedicated to renewable energy financing is a welcome development and should be supported.”

According to Dr. Samuel Brown, representative of the promoters of The Green Bank project, Quantum Partners Investment Services Ltd, “Nigeria faces significant climate and energy challenges, including flooding, desertification, food insecurity, and power deficits. At the same time, the country holds immense green investment potentials. According to the International Finance Corporation, Nigeria’s climate investment opportunity could reach approximately US$104 billion by 2030 across sectors such as renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture, green buildings, transport, and resilient infrastructure.

“Despite this potential, access to stable and affordable climate finance remains limited. Nigeria’s climate commitments under the Paris Agreement and its Nationally Determined Contributions require substantial annual investment to meet adaptation and mitigation targets. As at today, existing financial institutions alone cannot bridge this financing gap.
The proposed Green and Climate Finance Bank seeks to address this structural challenge by:
• Mobilising private and institutional capital through innovative risk sharing mechanisms
• Providing long tenor and flexible financing for renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure projects
• Supporting MSMEs, women led enterprises, and green entrepreneurs
• Strengthening Nigeria’s access to international climate funds and blended finance structures
The initiative is being led by Quantum Partners Investment Services, a Nigerian investment firm working to develop a robust governance, risk, and operational framework for the proposed institution. A comprehensive business plan and governance blueprint have already been developed, aligned with global best practices, including climate disclosure and environmental and social risk standards.”

The Chairman emphasised that the Green and Climate Finance Bank aligns directly with the legislative and oversight priorities of the House Committee on Renewable Energy. He noted that the National Assembly remains committed to creating an enabling environment for renewable energy deployment, private sector participation, and sustainable investment flows into Nigeria.

“This initiative is not merely about establishing another bank,” he stated. “It is about building an important platform that can attract private capital, make green investments, create jobs for our young people, and strengthen Nigeria’s energy security.”

The promoters are currently raising US$15 million in founding capital to secure regulatory approvals, establish core operations and digital infrastructure, and commence lending and project financing activities, with a target operational launch in early 2027.
The Chairman called on development finance institutions, sovereign funds, pension funds, impact investors, and forward-looking private investors to support the initiative. He further reiterated the importance of strong collaboration between the executive, legislature, private sector, and international partners to ensure that Nigeria does not miss the global transition towards green and sustainable finance.

“This is an important moment,” he concluded. “Nigeria must not only participate in the global green transition; we must shape it in a way that serves our people, strengthens our economy, and secures our future.”

No PVCs, No Renewal Of Shops, Abia Traders Warned

The leadership of Abia State Amalgamated Traders Association, ASMATA, ,has underscored the need for traders in Abia State to take all necessary steps towards ensuring that they register and  obtain their Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, National Identification number, NIN, and  Abia State Social Identification Number, ABSSIN.

 

This is as ASMATA directed the leadership of all Market Association in the State to effectively embark on an  aggressive and massive sensitization and mobilization of traders on the  urgent and compelling need for them to obtain their PVCs to enable them participate actively in the fast approaching 2027 general elections.

 

In  a statement jointly issued on Wednesday March 4, 2026,  by Chief Alphonsus Udeigbo, President General, Akwarandu Anyim Secretary, and Ejike Urams Public Relations Officer, the ASMATA emphasized the importance of Abia traders adequately preparing themselves for the task of fully getting involved in the country’s electoral process in 2027.

 

The umbrella body of all traders in Abia State warned that post-2027 polls ,the possession of PVCs, NIN and ABSSIN will be a necessary pre-condition for traders to renew  their shops and business premises at all the markets in the state.

 

The statement  noted that the ASMATA leadership has been directed by the Abia State Government to liase and engage with all market leaderships in the State to ensure that traders avail themselves the opportunity of the remaining window allowed for the registration and  collection of PVCs, NIN and  ABSSIN.

 

In the letter, titled: “Directive to Embark on Full Education/Enlightenment Of All Business Communities and Traders In Abia Markets On The Importance Of PVC”,  addressed to the ASMATA leadership by the Abia State Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Dr Salome Obiukwu, and dated February 23, 2026, the Abia state Government warned that  no trader’s shop will be renewed after the 2027 general elections without the presentation of PVCs, NIN, and ABSSIN.

 

“I write to direct your office/Association to coordinate all markets in Aba and across Abia state to ensure that traders who have not yet registered for their Permanent Voters Cards PVCs do so without further delay.

 

“This is very important as the 2027 general elections are fast approaching. Hence, after the 2027 general elections, no trader’s shop will be renewed without evidence of a Permanent Voters Card (PVC) a National Identification Card, and  ABSSIN.

 

“You are, therefore, advised to liase with market leaders in the various Markets to ensure that this exercise is carried out promptly . Kindly encourage everyone to participate . If you encounter any challenges in the course of this assignment, please notify the Ministry accordingly”, the Commissioner stated.

 

To this end, the ASMATA leadership urged traders in the state to ensure full participation in the exercise, as a veritable way of supporting and encouraging efforts at repositioning the state.

Governor Hope Uzodimma on Monday  March 2, 2026 gladly welcomed no fewer than 1320 defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC), a move that has further disabled the now troubled Nigeria’s political behemoth.

Uzodimma described their decision to join his Party as a step toward unity and accelerated development in Imo State.

Addressing the new APC members at the Sam Mbakwe Executive Council Chambers, Government House Owerri, Uzodimma said the move was not about political history but about “a new trajectory of development” for the State.

“This decision is not about personal gain; it is in the interest of our people. The government of Imo State belongs to all of us,” he said.

The Governor stressed the need for collective responsibility in governance, noting that insecurity and infrastructure challenges require joint efforts.

He assured the new APC members of equal rights and opportunities, pledging to work closely with them and consider some for appointments.

Uzodimma also highlighted the historic contributions of the Igbo people to Nigeria’s development and called for renewed unity and focus. “We must move forward, not backward. The common denominator is the interest of our State and our people,” he stated.

He thanked the APC leadership for receiving the defectors without discrimination.

The Imo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sir MacDonald Ebere,  expressed joy that a number of quality members of the PDP have joined the APC and assured the defectors of full recognition and equal status in the Party.

Sir Ebere described them as the “substance and oxygen” of the PDP, noting that their decision to join the APC marked a significant political shift in Imo State.

He praised Governor Uzodimma for uniting the State through inclusive leadership and urged the new members not to fear marginalisation. “You will retain your status and even be better recognised in the APC,” he said, adding that the Party remains open and welcoming to all.

The defectors led by Evangelist Mike Ikoku, the coordinator of the Hopism Movement, acknowledged that all the members have resigned from PDP and now duly registered with the APC.

He disclosed that the defectors include former members of the State Working Committee of the Party, former Local Government Party Chairmen, former State Organising Secretary, former Financial Secretary and Legal Adviser of PDP, former House of Assembly candidate and their supporters.

Expressing their joy, Hon. Jeff Nwachukwu, former PDP House of Assembly candidate, Mr. Mike Nkwocha, Ugorji Onuegbu and others who spoke, pointed out that their conviction to join APC was due to the performance and leadership sagacity of Governor Uzodimma.

They pleaded with the Governor to accept them into the APC fold as prodigal sons who have repented and have seen the light.

They maintained that their defection was an expression of their support for good governance in the State and the nation, and pledged their loyalty to the APC ideals.

The National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that it directed Ondo Congress Committee to stand down in compliance with the interim order of the Federal High Court restraining the conduct and recognition of its congresses in Ondo State.

APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, made the clarification Tuesday night during an appearance on Arise Television, insisting that the ruling party remains law-abiding despite disagreeing with the court’s decision.

According to him, the party immediately directed its congress committee in Ondo State to halt further actions upon becoming aware of the court order.

“We woke up to a court order by the Federal High Court, and as a law-abiding party, we directed our team in that place to wait until the order is vacated or there is a contrary order from the court,” Bashiru said.

He stressed that the APC would not act in defiance of judicial authority.

“We are not a party of illegality. Even though we believe that the court order ought not to have been granted to restrain the holding of the congress because it is not a perishable item, when there is a positive order of court, you must respect it,” he stated.

Bashiru added that while the party intends to challenge the order legally, it would continue to obey it unless vacated.

“You must respect it, even when you file an application to set it aside, unless there is a statutory provision to the contrary.

“So we are obeying the court order, but of course we are going to challenge that order for it to be vacated,” he said.

The Federal High Court in Akure had granted an interim injunction restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising the Ward and Local Government Congresses allegedly conducted in February, as well as the proposed State Congress in Ondo State, pending further hearing.

However, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in company of the Congress committee went ahead on Tuesday in defiance of the court order to conduct the Congress.

The court order was at the request of a faction of the party in the state to stop the governor from imposing his cronies as members of the state executive committee of the party.

Former President Olusegun has decried the letter in circulation purported to have been written by him.

The former President vehemently being the author of the letter, and has dismissed as fake and mischievous.

The circulating letter was purportedly extracted from Obasanjo’s most recent memoirs.

It reads:

My fellow Countrymen,

People tell you that life is very long. “Live easily,” they say. “There’s still plenty of time.”

I am ninety-four years old as I write these lines, and I say with complete certainty: that is not true. Life is not long; it is as brief as the blink of an eye. Now that I am about to le@ve this world, my heart wishes to entrust a few truths to you.

I earned wealth, saw respect, built a name—but tonight all of it feels like dust lying in the corner of my room. If I stretch out my hand, nothing will go with me. The things I held close to my chest all my life now feel like sand slipping through my fingers.

Before I go, I want to lighten my heart. Some things have remained buried inside me for seventy years. I do not want you to lie on a bed one day, remembering your past life, and feel a sting in your heart with every memory.

The first truth: Stop living in the waiting room.

A large part of my life passed in waiting.

In school, I thought life would begin once I got my certificate.

When I got a job in the army, I waited for the weekend.

After marriage, I waited for my children to grow up.

When they grew up, I waited for retirement.

I treated every present moment as just a phase, as if real life was waiting somewhere ahead. I kept staring at the distant horizon and never felt the ground beneath my feet. Today I understand there is no final destination. The journey itself is life—and instead of living it, I merely passed through it.

I still remember a rainy Tuesday. I was thirty years old, sitting in my office, staring at the clock. Rain was pouring outside, and inside my heart was restless. I wanted time to pass quickly. I wanted to escape that day.

Today, if someone asked me, I would give all my earnings to relive just that one day—the chair, the silence, the sound of rain against the glass, and the strength in my legs.

Perhaps you are doing the same. You say, “I’ll be happy when I get promoted. I’ll feel peace when I have more money. My life will be complete when I find the right person.” You are selling today in exchange for tomorrow—and that tomorrow may never come.

Do not waste your days like this. One day you will realize those ordinary days were the most precious.

The second truth: Gold cannot be eaten.

I spent fifty years building an empire. Long hours of work. Missed my children’s birthdays. Even during festivals, my mind was stuck at the office. I saw the waiting in my wife’s eyes and comforted myself by saying, “I’m doing this for them.”

I bought a big house, an expensive car, fine clothes. I believed these things increased my worth, made me appear bigger in the eyes of others.

Now that my departure is near, I realize none of it will go with me. The house will belong to someone else. The walls will be painted according to someone else’s taste. The car will end up in a junkyard. The money will remain just a number. Tonight it cannot hold my hand or tell me not to be afraid.

I remember a day when my daughter called me into the garden. She had found a tiny insect and wanted me to sit with her and watch it. There was joy in her eyes. I said, “Not now, I’m busy. I’m earning money.”

She quietly turned away. The sadness in her eyes still burns my heart. I lost a precious moment with my daughter in exchange for a few paper notes.

If you are exhausting yourself only for a paycheck, pause. Your workplace will replace you quickly—but your home will never forget you. Gather wealth of memories, not possessions.

The third truth: Tear down the walls around your heart.

When I was young, I thought I was strong. I never apologized first. I hesitated to speak what was in my heart. I believed that if a man softened, people would see him as weak. I rarely expressed love—perhaps afraid my image of toughness would break.

I had a brother. We grew up together. Played in the same courtyard. Sat at the same table. Shared joys and sorrows. One day, we became upset over something trivial.

Today, honestly, I do not even remember what it was. Maybe money. Maybe an argument. But at that time I was certain I was right. I decided he would come first.

Days passed, then months, then years. On every festival my heart wanted to pick up the phone—but ego stood in the way. I kept telling myself there was still time.

One day the phone rang—but it wasn’t him. The news came that he had suffered a sudden stroke and passed away. I stood before his cold face, and my insistence on being right felt meaningless.

I was right—but I was alone. Ten years of laughter, ten years of conversations, ten years of festivals—I had laid them all at the feet of ego. That day I understood: some relationships are saved not by logic, but by love.

If you love someone, say it today. If you are wrong, apologize today. There is no promise of tomorrow.

The fourth truth: Fear is a false shadow.

At twenty-two, I wanted to become a writer. I had a notebook filled with ideas, dreams, stories. But I never wrote a book about those dreams and stories. I was afraid people would laugh, that I would fail, that I would not be taken seriously.

I chose the safe path and spent my life fulfilling other people’s dreams. Today my hands tremble. Even if I want to, I cannot hold a pen properly. My eyes have grown dim. That book is still inside me—and perhaps it will be buried in silence with me. Instead of it, I wrote “My Command”, and “Under My Watch”.

The real tragedy of life is not death; it is the dreams we kill while we are alive.

Perhaps the cemetery is the richest place in the world—because buried there are all the unwritten novels, unsung songs, and unstarted dreams.

Do not add to that silent treasure. Do not keep postponing the desire in your heart. Take a step. Even if you stumble, at least you will be able to say, “I tried.”

Better to step into the river once than to stand on the shore forever thinking about it. “If only” is the most painful phrase. In old age, it wakes a person in the silence of the night.

The ticking of my clock now sounds clearer. I have laid down the stones of worry, ego, and fear. I am now just a helpless human being—just as I was on the day I was born—empty-handed.

You are still alive. You have another day. Do not waste it. Look at your hands. Move your fingers. Feel your breath. It is all a miracle.

Do not wait until you are ninety-four to realize how beautiful life is. Feel it now.

I am about to close my eyes. I hope my words find a place in your heart like a seed.

Live—not for me, but for truth. Live from the heart. Live fully for yourself. Live for your loved ones.

However, in a press statement released on Tuesday, and signed by hid Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, the former President urged the public to ignore the document entirely.

He described the alleged excerpt as a  complete fabrication meant to mislead Nigerians.

The former President will turn 89 years on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

A prolific author and letter writer, Obasanjo served as Nigeria’s Military Head of State from 1976 to 1979, and later as a democratically elected President from 1999 to 2007. He earned a doctorate degree in Theology from the National  Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, at the age of 80 years.

Imo APC Elects New Executive Officers

Businessman, entrepreneur and tested administrator, Chief Austin Onyedebelu has been elected the new Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, taking over from esthwhile Chairman of the Party, Sir MacDonald Ebere, whose four years tenure came to a glorious end with a State Congress to elect his successor, Tuesday, March 3.

Onyedebelu will pilot the affairs of the Imo State APC in the next four years with a team of 36 officers, all of who were also elected  via both consensus, voice vote affirmation and balloting by the Party delegates from the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State at the Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square.

Governor Hope Uzodimma had charged members of the APC in Imo State to remain united and committed to equity in his remarks as the Party’s State Congress Committee members got set to commence the processes of electing new officers.

Addressing delegates, including National Assembly members, State lawmakers, and former Party faithful, Uzodimma said the Congress was convened to elect a new State Executive Committee in line with the Party’s Constitution.

He commended the outgoing executives led by Ebere for their “stunning performance” over the past four years, but stressed the need to obey Party guidelines for the emergence of new executives.

“Our Constitution is the Bible guiding the activities of our great Party. We must obey it,” he said, emphasising the importance of adhering to the Party’s rules.

The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to the institution of the Charter of Equity in Imo State, noting that Party positions would rotate across zones to promote fairness and political stability.

“For the sake of equity and balance, leadership must continue to rotate from one senatorial district to another,” he stated, adding that the idea informed his decision not to support the re-election of the outgoing executives.

Uzodimma disclosed that stakeholders had agreed on a consensus “unity list” to ensure a rancour-free process, urging members to demonstrate to the world that Imo people are united and committed to progress.

He then formally declared the Congress open, expressing optimism that it would advance peace and development in the State and Nigeria at large.

In his opening remarks, the outgoing State Chairman of the APC, Sir. MacDonald Ebere, described the Congress as a defining moment in its democratic journey.

He noted that the exercise was not just a routine political event but a constitutional responsibility to elect leaders who will steer the Party’s affairs for the next four years.

“We are not just electing leaders; we are shaping the future of our Party and our State,” Ebere emphasised, urging delegates to uphold discipline, unity, and transparency throughout the process.

He welcomed officials from the Party’s National Secretariat, and assured them of full cooperation to ensure a credible and orderly exercise.

Ebere thanked the Governor and Party members for their support, highlighting achievements in strengthening Party structures and grassroots participation.

He pledged continued loyalty to the Party and Governor, and urged Party members to unite behind new leaders, just as he expressed gratitude to God for the strength to complete his tenure honourably.

Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Amara Iwuanyanwu had, accordingly moved the motion for the dissolution of the Ebere-led Imo State APC exco to pave the way for the election of new officers, as well as for the adoption of the consensus cum unity list processes of electing the new officers by the delegates as earlier agreed by the stakeholders.

His motion was supported by the Majority Leader of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Dele Onyemaechi, and sealed by the delegates with a thunderous “the Ayes have it.”

The Chairman of the Imo State APC Congress Committee, Hon. Godwin Anaughe, who said the event was a crucial step in electing State Party leaders and praised Governor Uzodimma for his transformative leadership, cited achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and transport.

He also highlighted Uzodimma’s national influence as Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum and Director-General of APC’s Renewed Hope Campaign efforts for 2027.

Anaughe urged delegates to maintain peace, cooperation, and unity throughout the Congress, ensuring the Party’s continued growth and developmental focus in Imo State.

Members of the State Congress Committee, the State Congress Appeal Committee, the State Congress Screening Committee and the State Congress Screening Appeal Committee took their positions to witness the delegates from the 27 LGAs cast their ballots in line with consensus nomination, election, voting by delegates and declaration, and affirmation of votes by all delegates that produced the new Party executives.

Chief Austin Onyedebelu and Onyekachi Ibezim emerged as Chairman and Secretary respectively, amid a total of 36 officers elected.

The newly elected officers were also sworn in immediately in accordance with the Party guidelines. They were led in an oath by a chieftain of the Party, Chief Sir Chukwuma Ekomaru, SAN,

In his acceptance speech on behalf of the newly sworn in Executives, Chief  Onyedebelu expressed gratitude to God, the Governor, Party leaders, and delegates for trusting him as Imo State APC Chairman.

He pledged unity, dedication, and collaboration to strengthen the Party, build on past achievements, and advance the Governor’s agenda, promising committed service to the people and APC.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has appointed Muyiwa John Adetola as the new Accountant-General of the state and Permanent Secretary, State Treasury Office.
The deployment was contained in a circular issued by the Office of the state  Head of Service, and shared on the state government Facebook page on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Adetola was the state  Auditor-General before his current appointment.
The government said the appointment was necessary to promote efficiency and continuity in the state public service.
Adetola’s appointment, according to the statement  followed the statutory retirement of the outgoing Accountant-General and Permanent Secretary, Abiodun Muritala.
“The Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, while wishing Mr Adetola success in his new role, urged all stakeholders to accord the circular the necessary publicity and cooperation to ensure a seamless transition.
“This strategic redeployment underscores the State Government’s commitment to maintaining efficiency, accountability, and continuity in public financial management,” the state government said.
Adetola’s appointment takes effect from Monday, March 2, 2026.

MDCN Suspends Doctors Over Death Of Chimamanda Adichie’s Son In Lagos

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, MDCN, has slammed an indefinite suspension on three medical doctors in connection with the  death of Nkanu Adichie-Esege, the 21-month old son of literary icon Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie .

 

The MCDN  Practitioners Disciplinary  Tribunal  also established a prima facie case of professional misconduct against ten other doctors during its investigations 

 

Dr Tunde Majekodunmi ,the Medical Director of Euracare Multi-Specialist Hospital, anesthesiologist, Dr Titus Ogundare, and Dr Atinuke Uwajeh, the Chief Medical Officer at Atlantis Pediatric Hospital, have been barred from further practice in Nigeria until the final hearing and determination of their cases by Medical and Dental Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal.

 

The panel however, cleared eight others of any wrong doing .

 

The Source reports that the  21- month old Nkanu passed on at the Euracare Multi-Specialist Hospital Lagos on January 7, 2026, after reportedly being sedated  for an MRI ,and central line insertion.

 

The MCDN set up an Investigation Panel to carry out an inquest after Chimamanda alleged negligence on the part of medical personnel at the two  Lagos-based hospitals that handled the case.

 

About 21 doctors were said to be involved in the treatment of  Adichie’s Son at the two privately owned medical facilities

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has approved the promotion of 2,339 staff members, the News Agency of Nigeria , NAN reports.
The commission said the promotion came under its 2025 Senior Staff Promotion exercise.
INEC disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by its Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Mrs Victoria Eta-Messi, noting that the decision was taken at the commission’s meeting held on Feb. 26.
According to Eta-Messi, 45 deputy directors on Grade Level (GL) 16 were elevated to directors on GL 17. Of these, 18 will remain in active service, while 27 are due for retirement shortly after their promotion.
She added that 91 assistant directors on GL 15 were promoted to deputy directors on GL 16, while 82 chief officers on GL 14 advanced to assistant directors on GL 15.
“The promotion exercise also covered 2,121 intermediate officers on GL 07–13 across various departments of the commission,” she said.
She stressed that the exercise was conducted in line with established guidelines and extant public service rules, reflecting INEC’s commitment to due process.
According  to her, the promotions underscored the commission’s resolve to reward merit, dedication, and years of service, while strengthening leadership capacity ahead of forthcoming electoral engagements.

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri has said that no Northerner has any business contesting for the office of the President in 2027.

 

For Fintiri who recently dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the All Progressives Congress, it is only fair that the Presidency  remains in the South till 2031.

 

He said that the South deserves to complete eight years in the Presidential office in line with Nigeria’s long-standing power-sharing understanding.

 

The Governor who spoke Tuesday on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, admitted that  although zoning was not provided for in the constitution, for national unity, it should be adhered to.

 

“A Northerner has no business, at the moment, to vie for the office of the president,” Fintiri said.

 

“It is the South’s turn; they should complete their eight years if we are really serious about this country and leadership,” he added.

 

For tye records, Atiku Abubakar, a Presidential aspirant under the African Democratic Congress, ADC, is from Adamawa, and is Fintiri’s political godfather. 

 

It seems, however, that their relationship has soured. Abba, one of Atiku’s sons, Abba, on Monday, resigned from Fintiri’s Cabinet. Until that resignation, he was the Commissioner for Works.

 

Speaking on his relationship with the former Vice-President, Fintiri said it remains cordial even with his defection to the APC.

 

He said it did not affect their personal relationship.

 

“There is nothing that has gone bad. It is just that everybody has taken their political ways, and I am today in APC, they are in another party.”
