After seven days in captivity, the traditional ruler of Igbesi community in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, Oba Moses Oyinloye Iwedunmoye I, has regained his freedom.
Armed bandits had stormed the monarch’s palace last Saturday during which he was abducted.
Igbesi is a community within Oke-Onigbin town in the Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, and falls within the Kwara South Senatorial District.
A source close to the palace confirmed that the monarch has been released by his abductors.
“The Kabiyesi Onigbesi of Igbesi land was released today.”
The monarch was abducted after armed men invaded Igbesi community in Oke-Onigbin town, Isin Local Government Area, late Saturday night.
The attack occurred at about 11:00 p.m. when armed bandits stormed the community and abducted Oba Oyinloye.
It could not be confirmed whether ransom was paid before the monarch’s regained freedom, as security agents are yet to react to his release
