Ondo Gov Meets Workers Over Unpaid Allowances

In  a further move to douse rumours of his disqualification by the All Progressives Congress, (APC) screening Committee,  from contesting the Party’s primary, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has taken to his Twitter page, announcing that he is currently meeting with representatives of Workers’ Union in Akure.

The state was agog at the weekend with rumour that Akeredolu has been disqualified from participating in the APC primary election to pick it’s flagbearer, slated for July 20.

The governor said that he was  presently in Akure holding meeting to address issues raised by the workers in their letter  to him, last week, in which they gave up till Wednesday for government to meet their demands.

“Trust we shall all reach a compromise that is beneficial to all parties.

“I’d also like to wish my fellow aspirants that is to meet the @OfficialAPCNg appeals committee in Abuja today all the best. ”

The workers had accused the state government of not settling arrears of salaries inherited from the immediate past administration and non- payment of leave arears and other benefits.

Recall that Akeredolu, at the inception of his administration, paid up the seven months salaries owed workers in the state.
