Olusegun Obasanjo, former President has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his reelection as the Executive Governor of Osun State.
The former Military President, on a visit to Adeleke at his Ede Country home hours after he was re-elected Governor, urged
Governor Adeleke not to relent in his transformation of Osun, but to continue to deliver good governance to the good people of the State.
Immediately he arrived, Adeleke welcomed him with a religious song in praise of God’s mercies. Obasanjo joined him, and both held hands, sang along together and danced.
A statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed said
Obasanjo prayed for the Governor’s further success and urged him to continue on the path of good governance and the delivery of dividends of democracy.
“Continue to deliver good governance. Continue to meet the needs of your people”, Obasanjo charged the Governor.
Surprised by the visit of the former President, Governor Adeleke expressed his gratitude to God and the people and promised to continue to be a loyal servant of the Osun people.
“Baba, I thank you for this surprise visit. I promise never to disappoint God, Osun people and all lovers of democracy who made our victory possible”, the governor told the former leader.
Governor Adeleke was accompanied by his Deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, in receiving Obasanjo.
