Nine Suspected Kidnappers Nabbed As Police In Ekiti Raid Hideout

Officers of Ekiti State Police Command have swooped on some forests in the state where suspected kidnappers use as their hideouts.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr Sunday Abutu, disclosed in a statement that during the raid, nine suspected kidnappers were apprehended.

The operation, according to him, was part of the ongoing strategic effort of the Ekiti State Police Command to rid the State of criminal elements with the aim of ensuring the security of lives and properties of the good people of Ekiti State.

“The Command operatives heavily bombarded vast forest known to be habouring bandits in the State.

“Following intelligence led surveillance activities, the Command operatives, on 29/04/2022 at about 13:00hrs, bombarded  Ago Aduloju forest, Ado-Ekiti where the hoodlums attacked the operatives with dangerous weapons during which one of the operatives sustained serious injury in an attempt to arrest them.

“During the operation, nine(9) suspects, namely- Hassan Mesaje, Dagogo Nadahi, Saidi Laun, Abubakar Usman, Lawal Abdullahi, Usman Ibrahim, Idris Ahmed, Usman Abubakar and Dahiru Adamu were arrested while others took to their heels.

“The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Moronkeji Adesina while assuring residents of Ekiti State that the Command will not relent in its fight against crimes and criminalities in the State, seeks the support and cooperation of all and sundry through the provision of timely and useful information to the police.”

He added that the suspects arrested will be made to face the wrath of the law.
