Ethiopian Airlines will be on duty for the second time to evacuate stranded Nigerians from the United States of America back to their country.
According to a Public Notice signed by the Consulate General of Nigeria, New York, Ethiopian Airline Flight No ET 509 will take off from the Newark International Airport ( EWR), New Jersey, on Thursday, July 2, by 21:15 hours, and arrive Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos (LOS), by 10:35 hours, on Friday, July 3.
The cost for a one-way ticket is USD1,250.00 for Economy Class, and USD2,800 for Business Class. There are also other requirements.
For instance, the Public Notice says: “In accordance with Nigerian Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, all prospective evacuees must present an original COVID-19 NEGATIVE test result (not older than 14days) at the Airport of departure, and undergo a temperature check four hours before departure. Any intending evacuees without the stipulated test result, or a body temperature above 38 degrees centigrade, or any symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO CHECK IN”
Evacuees are also expected to carry hand sanitizers which they will use on board, intermittently.
