The source reports that the the election which for the past couple weeks was dogged by a plethora of disagreements and even court cases ,was initially marred by delay arising from a portal failure.

The systematic failure led to the election commencing about seven hours behind schedule on Saturday.

However, at end of the day, she scored a total number of 12,317 to defeat Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, and Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, who both of whom scored 7, 934 and 5, 855 votes, respectively, to place second and third.

Badejo-Okusanya, who was called to the Bar in 2002 ,will be taking over from the 32nd President of the umbrella body of Nigerian lawyers, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN.
