The National Population Commission, NPC, has cautioned prospective Nigerians seeking for employment for the Trial Census and the 2023 Census to disregard the fake 2022/2023 NPC Recruitment Portal circulating on Social Media.
The Commission said the information that it is recruiting is false and totally misleading, as it is a plot by some fraudsters to swindle unsuspecting Nigerians.
A statement signed by the Commission’s Director, Public Affairs, Isiaka Yahaya, says that the Commission disassociates itself from the Portal and reiterates the fact that the recruitment portal for the ongoing Trial Census is no longer active and was shut down the moment the Commission concluded its recruitment process for the exercise.
It added that the Commission assures Nigerians of its transparency towards the 2023 Census including the recruitment of Adhoc Staff.
Yahaya stressed that the Commission is taking every measure to uncover those behind the fraudulent recruitment site, and warned scammers to desist from this inglorious act as the Commission would bring into play the full weight of the law to bear on perpetrators in its quest to to conduct the first fully Digital Population and Housing Census in Nigeria in 2023 that will be credible and acceptable.
