The body of Blessing Moshood, a 29-Year Old Sociology Graduate of the Kogi State University has been found in a canal in Abuja, the nation’s Capital.
The Late Blessing was allegedly murdered in cold blood last Thursday night, and her body dumped in a canal in Jikwoyi, Abuja, the family had stated.
According to Blessing’s sister, Abigail Moshood, Blessing had left their home around 8.00pm after speaking with someone on the phone.
“About an hour later, she called again to say she would return briefly to pick up a phone charger she had forgotten. The family said they did not hear from her again and she did not return home the following day”.
Weeping profusely as she narrated how her sister left home and never returned back,
Abigail said the family became alarmed after hearing residents discuss the discovery of a woman’s body in a canal.
She said the description of the hairstyle matched Blessing’s, prompting them to run to the scene.
“My mother started crying, and we also learnt that policemen from the Jikwoyi Police Station had evacuated the corpse which was found half-naked with only a top on, to a mortuary in Mararaba, Nasarawa State,” she said.
Abigail stated that she visited the Jikwoyi Police Station and was shown photographs that confirmed the deceased was her sister.
What led to her demise remain unknown, as
neighbours described Blessing as intelligent and friendly.
It was gathered from Margaret, one of the deceased neighbours, that Blessing graduated with a Second Class Upper in Sociology.
