On Monday, the Speaker of the Assembly, Mudasiru Obasa suspended two lawmakers over gross misconduct “that threatens the sanctity of the house.”
The suspended lawmakers are Wale Osin, representing Lagos Mainland and Adewale Folarin representing Ibeju Lekki in the assembly.
Two principal officers, Muyiwa Jimoh and Rotimi Abiru were also removed from their positions.
The magazine learnt that some lawmakers are not happy with the leadership style of Obasa and are rooting for a new speaker.
Osin is among the lawmakers eyeing Obasa’s position.
The Lagos Island representative in the state assembly, almost threw his hat in the ring to contest the speakership last year, but was later forced to step down for Obasa who was gunning for a second term.
