But for a combination of his alertness and physical fitness, a Katsina State Judge could either, by now, been in the den of bandits or dead.

The Shariah Court Judge, Mohammed Muktar, was sitting in his Court located at Gwajor village  of Matazu Local Government Area, when bandits stormed at about 12.00 noon.

Heavily armed, they started shooting sporadically and asking for the whereabouts of the Judge for whom they, specifically, apparently, came for.

However, having spotted them from afar, before they entered the Court room, he made for the nearest window to him, jumped through it, and escaped, according to reports.

An eyewitness narrated: “The bandits entered the Courtroom, shooting indiscriminately and repeatedly asking where the Judge was. Fortunately, he had already escaped through the window, and a commercial motorcyclist helped him flee before they arrived.”

On realising that the Judge had escaped, the bandit, outraged, swore to kill him if he dared come  back to the Court to sit.

The Katsina State Police Command was yet to comment on the frightening incident at the time of this report.
