The Kaduna State Government and the House of Assembly have been thrown into mourning following the assassination of a member of the Assembly, Hon. Rilwanu Aminu Gadagau, by suspected bandits.
The death of the lawmaker representing Giwa West Constituency was confirmed by former Senator, Shehu Sani via his Twitter handle on Wednesday.
Sani had, in a series of tweets, initially called for prayers for a member of the State House of Assembly as of 10:15am without disclosing any detail, but was forced to reveal his identity in a follow-up tweet.
The late Gadagau was said to have been shot by bandits while on his way to Kaduna.
Sani wrote on his Twitter handle, “Pray for a member of Kaduna State House of Assembly.”
“A member of Kaduna State House of Assembly Hon Rilwanu Aminu Gadagau from Giwa LG is reportedly shot and killed by bandits on his way to Kaduna. A tragedy a day.Inna lillahi wainna Illayhir rajiun.”
For months now, Kaduna State have had series of security issues with wanton killing in the State by bandits and kidnapping reigning supreme in the State.
