Former President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has condoled with former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd) on the passing of his younger sister, Hajiya Salamatu Asabe.
Dr. Jonathan prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and urged the former head of State to take solace in the fact that her sister lived an impactful life.
In a statement by his spokesman, Ikechukwu Eze, the former President acknowledged that Gen. Abdulsalami and his family members are grief-stricken and prayed to God to grant them the strength and peace to carry on.
He said: “The death of a loved one is always a painful experience, no matter his age or achievement in life. I acknowledge that this is a sad moment for you and other members of the family but urge you to take solace in the fact that Hajiya Salamatu Asabe lived an impactful life.
“I pray that God grants you strength and peace during this period and beyond. On behalf of my family, please accept my condolences.”
