“I Don’t Think Any Reasonable Person Will Insult Obi” – Minister Umahi

Engineer Dave Umahi, Nigeria’s Minister of Works, has said that those who say that the Igbo are insulting Peter Obi, a former two-term Governor of Anambra State, and currently, the Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, are off the point. This is because, according to the Minister, who himself was a two-term Governor of Ebonyi State, no reasonable person would insult Obi.

Umahi spoke while addressing his supporters   during a recent supervision of projects under his Ministry.

Unarguably one of the most hard working and prominent Minister under the President Bola Tinubu Government, Umahi saud that he had ever attacked  Obi.

According to him: “People are saying that the Igbo are insulting Peter Obi. I don’t think any reasonable person will insult him.”

Instead, said Umahi, Obi is a lucky man because even when nobody can verify exactly what Obi has done, people still talk about him.

Umahi: “I want to say that Peter Obi is a lucky man because when you say people should go and verify and there is nothing  they see, yet, some people are still taking about him.”

Obi’s trademark, when he makes a point, especially, about what he had achieved is to ask people to “go and verify.”

Even though the Minister said he had never attacked Obi, he, however, made the point that the NDC Presidential Candidate should not expect not to be replied to  by those working under President Tinubu when he challenges the President, and/or present him as not working.

Umahi: “If you are challenging President Bola Tinubu and the President is working, and he is using us to work, then you expect us to keep quiet? We will not keep quiet.

“When you condemn people, you bring judgement upon yourself. When you say that you are holier than the angels, then we have to analyse to see if it is true.”
