“I am Nobody’s   Running Mate, I Have Not Even Been Asked” – Amaechi

Despite losing the presidential ticket to former Vice President Abubakar Atiku, former Minister of Transportation and former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has dismissed speculations that he plans to leave the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He affirmed that he remains committed to the opposition party.

 

“I am still a member of ADC,” Amaechi stated, dismissing claims that he was considering leaving the party.

 

The former presidential aspirant also denied reports of discussions surrounding a vice-presidential slot, saying, “No one has asked me to be VP.”

 

Amaechi, however, maintained his criticism of the ADC primary election process, reiterating his earlier allegation that the outcome was manipulated.

“I stand by what I said about concocted results,” he said, indicating that concerns over the credibility of the primary exercise remain unresolved despite his continued membership of the party.

 

Amaechi made the clarification during an interview on the popular “WithChude” podcast hosted by media personality Chude Jideonwo, where he addressed rumours of a possible defection and reports suggesting he could emerge as Atiku’s running mate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

 

“His remarks come amid renewed reconciliation efforts within the ADC following the party’s presidential primary.

 

Former Vice President Atiku few days ago visited Amaechi at his Abuja residence alongside former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, former ADC National Chairman Ralph Nwosu, and other party stakeholders party despite losing its presidential ticket to the former Vice President
