How Former Borno First Lady, Zainab, Buba Marwa’s First Wife, Died

Chief (Mrs) Zainab Salome Marwa,(Igolo), the beautiful first wife of the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brigadier-General Mohammed Buba Marwa (Rtd), is dead.

She was a former First Lady of Borno State.

A native of Emekuku in the Owerri North LGA, Imo State, she was born to the family of Nathaniel and Anna Charity Agbaso. And was an elder sister to Chief Martin Agbaso (Ochoudo), His Excellency Jude Agbaso, former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Jovita, the owner of the popular Jevnik chain of Restaurants, among other siblings. Her mother is still alive.

She was the beloved mother of four adult children – Abubakar, a businessman and entrepreneur, Mohammed (a Snr. Military Officer), Mariam and Zainab (Special Assistant to the FCT Minister). She was, also, the doting grandmother of 10 grandchildren.

Mrs Marwa spoke to her younger brother, Chief Agbaso, by 2.45pm on Friday, and passed on at 12.47am, Saturday, January 8, in Abuja, after an unexpected heart attack same Saturday, January 8, 2022.

As the First Lady of Borno State, she had a passion for the improvement of the lives of women and the girl-child. A business woman, she carried on with her passion after office, concentrating especially, on religious work.

A statement by the family said funeral arrangements will be announced later.

She was aged 66 years.
