The young girl recognized her rapist-neighbour by a scar on his hand.
Narrating the ordeal of the young girl, a Nigerian lawyer, Toyin Ndidi Taiwo, explained how the intelligence of the girl paved way for the rapxist to be apprehended.
The attacker had put on a mask in carrying out the heinous crime.
Despite the mask meant to hide his face, the victim noted and remembered a specific, unique scar on his hand during the assault.
Taiwo, the minor’s lawyer shared the story in a Facebook post on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, and revealed that the victim recognised the suspect by the distinctive scar on his hand.
The Gender Unit of the Lagos State Police Command has been commended by the legal team for conducting a diligent investigation into the neighbor following the identification.
