A former Chief of Army Staff, COAS, General Mohammed Inuwa Wushishi, is dead.
Family sources say he died in London of a yet to be announced ailment on Saturday, December 4, 2021.
Wushishi was Nigeria’s COAS between October 1981 and October 1983, under the President Shehu Shagari regime.
He joined the Nigerian Army on April 21, 1961. Between January 1975 and March 1976, he was a Federal Commissioner for Industries as well as a member of the Supreme Military Council.
On retirement from the Military, he became a big time Business man, and was, at a point, the Chairman of UAC.
He held the National Honour of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON.
The General who died at the age of 81 years, was a Nupe, from Niger State
