Former Kano State Governor, Senator Kabiru Gaya, has joined forces with the opposition Coalition platform, the African Democratic Congress.
The defection of the two- time Senator that represented Kano South District at the National Assembly, followed his resignation from the All Progressive Congress, APC.
In a letter of resignation dated April 5, 2026, Gaya who presided over the affairs of Kano on the platform of the defunct National Republican Convention, NRC, informed that his decision to quit the APC and defect to the ADC followed wide consultations and careful considerations.
He emphasized that the realignment is in agreement with both his personal beliefs and wider interests of his Constituents.
He appreciated the APC for the opportunity given to him to further his political journey and serve his people.
While confirming his move to the ADC during an interactive session with the Media, the former Chairman of Senate Committee on INEC assured of his cordial relationship with the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and former Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who a couple weeks ago joined the opposition Coalition.
