Ahead of the opening of the airports for regular flight activities and as part of gradual ease off of flight restrictions, the Federal Airports Authority, FAAN, has advised passengers to arrive at airports three hours before check-in time. This is to enable them to check in on time using the new COVID 19 protocol.
In a statement from their verified Twitter account, the authority said: “COVID 19 flight resumption protocol for passengers: You are advised to arrive at the airports three hours before your flight due to new COVID 19 safety checks”
Recently, FAAN has been having zoom conference meetings with foreign airlines and other stakeholders, intimating them of their new regulations in compliance with COVID 19 pandemic demands. Airlines like Lufthansa, KLM/Air France, British Airways, and others are being regularly consulted in preparations for takeoff.
Recently, they gave guidelines on the crew members’ activities during the resumption of flights.
The Nigerian airports are only doing charter flights during the period of COVD 19 pandemic. Air Peace has been airlifting passengers and cargo on behalf of the Federal Government. They are also used to evacuate Nigerians in diaspora during the pandemic.
