Emir Of Gumel, Alhaji Muhammad Sani, Dies In Egypt

Gumel Emirate in Jigawa State is mourning following the passage of its Emir, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad Sani II,  in Egypt.

 

The monarch reportedly died on Thursday, with news of his passing triggering an outpouring of grief among residents, relatives, associates and members of the traditional institution.

 

The death is being widely regarded as a significant loss to the Gumel Emirate, particularly given the traditional ruler’s role in providing leadership and contributing to the preservation of peace, unity, cultural values and community development.

 

Residents of Gumel and other parts of Jigawa State have reportedly begun offering prayers for the repose of the late monarch’s soul, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.

Prayers have also been offered for the deceased Emir’s family, loved ones and the people of Gumel, with well-wishers seeking divine strength and patience for them to cope with the loss.

 

The late Ahmed Muhammad Sani II served as custodian of the Gumel traditional institution and occupied an influential position in the affairs of the emirate. 

 

The Gumel Emirate is one of the historic traditional institutions in northern Nigeria, with a longstanding heritage and significant influence on the social and cultural life of its people.
