Domestic Violence Leads To Death Of Evangelist, Wife In Ogun Community

The tragic death of Evangelist Abidemi Odukoya, Shepherd-in-Charge of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Iri Orun Parish, and his Wife, Adenike Odukoya, over an argument has brought to fore the spate of domestic violence in the country.

 

The incident which occurred in the early hours of Monday, 25 August, 2026, in Akiode Ibogun, Ogun State, saw the Clergyman beating his Wife to death.

 

The alleged violent altercation was  began at the uncivilized time of 3.00am, when the Evangelist pounced on his wife and beat her to a pulp.

 

Upon realizing his wife was unresponsive, the Evangelist fled the scene, but his son raised alarm, which attracted  neighbors and members of the local Community Development Association, CDA, who swung into action to revive the Wife.

Unfortunately,  she did not respond. She died.

 

But the tragedy took a new twist around 6.00am  Tuesday morning when reports reached the community that a body had been found along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, in the Iyana Coker area of Ifo.

 

The CDA officials went to the location and confirmed the deceased was Evangelist Odukoya.

 

The Evangelist was, reportedly,  hit by  an oncoming vehicle on the highway.

 

Following this development, the CDA  informed the Police who commenced standard procedures.

 

The Police took his remains to the mortuary, as his family is making moves to secure the release of his body for burial.

The remains of Adenike Odukoya was interred at their residence on Tuesday.
