Barely few hours to the end of the year, some families have lost their breadwinners after they were crushed to death by two trucks belonging to Dangote, a company owned by business mogul and Africa’s richest man,Aliko Dangote.
“It’s a sad event to lose love ones at the eve of the new year,”
an eye witness who was present during the sad incident told the magazine.
The incident which claimed the life of a motorcycle rider, the magazine learnt occured at Imowo/ Ijebu Ode in Ogun State.
The Ogun State traffic management agency confirmed the incident.
The Public Relations Officer of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps in the state, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed that two persons were crushed to death.
“Two passengers on the motorcycle lost their lives and hoodlums around the scene burnt two Dangote trucks on the road and did not allow anybody to carry the two corpses on the ground for now,” the agency said through its spokesman.
At the time of filling this report, the management of the haulage company has yet to respond to the incident.
