Covid-19: Students Shun Wuhan University Scholarship as China Discharges Last Patient From Six Days Wonder Hospital

Chinese authorities have allegedly got no response from the advertisement offering scholarship to students planning to school at Wuhan University just as Covid-19 infections wane, forcing the closure of the hospital built within ten days to accommodate Covid-19 patients. Wuhan is the Epicenter of the Virus.

The University is offering full fledged scholarship to foreign students below the age of forty in fields ranging form medicine to Engineering. But social media reactions of Nigerians indicate that they are not ready to risk the issue of Coronavirus for free degree

According to the University authorities, “This scholarship only supports graduate students. It supports master’s students for no more than three years, or doctoral students for no more than four years. (The) Duration of the scholarship, which covers both major study and Chinese language/preparatory study, is as specified in the Admission Letter. Scholarship students can register for either Chinese-medium program or English-medium program if applicable.”

One Nigerian responded on Facebook: ” They should give the scholarship to all their children, in fact they should declare free education for their citizens. See expensive joke ooo”.

Meanwhile, the Hospital that the Chinese government built in six days and equipped in four days is to be closed down as the last batch of the Covid-19 patients are being discharged. This magazine reported that the Chinese authorities built a hospital in six days to accommodate the surging cases of Covid-19. The hospital was said to have been built in specified time and equipped in four days.

The international community is reported to be puzzled at the zero rate of spread of the virus in African soil. The first reported case in Africa was in Egypt, which the World health Organization reported later tested negative. Then there was a report of the disease in Algeria, which never spread. And finally, an unnamed Italian, which Nigerians are asking why the withholding of the name, was reported in Nigeria. No other person has been confirmed as being infested.

According to AFP, it is a puzzle to international observers.
