Former Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state burial has been postponed till further notice.
The ex-governor died on Thursday of corona virus complications, and was to be buried in Ibadan today according to Islamic rites.
But the family has now shifted the burial to a future date, which would be announced by the family, Bolaji Tunji, the spokesman of the Ajimobi family said.
“The funeral arrangements will be announced soon by the family but it will be observed privately so as to be in accordance with the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines,” Tunji said in a statement on Friday.
Senator Ajimobi was Oyo state governor for eight years.
He was 70 years old.
