President Muhammadu Buhari’s Deputy in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Sylva Timpere is in trouble. Buhari is the Minister, and Sylva his Deputy.
Now, in addition to his Oily office, Sylva now has a suicide case on his hands. He has been keeping watch over a high profile suicidal friend and associate.
According to Sylva the All Progressives Congress, APC, Deputy-Governorship Candidate during the Bayelsa November 14, 2019 election, Senator Biobakaruma Degi-Eremienyo, who was the architect of the misfortune that befell the party over discrepancies in the names on his educational certificates is on the verge of Committing Suicide. He is, therefore, on a suicide watch. And Deputy Minister Sylva is one of those watching over him.
In an interview on Sunrise on Channels Television on Monday, Sylva maintained that the APC was negated in the Supreme Court Judgement, and this, said Sylva has placed a basket case in his hands. “I am dealing with a life and death is dealing with a matter of life and death.
According to him, the apex court failed to call witnesses to establish the claims that the former APC deputy governor-elect allegedly forged his certificate.
Sylva : ”I’m dealing with a former Deputy-Governor that is on the verge of committing suicide. This is a matter of life and death. Every day I have to call to find out that he hasn’t done anything to himself
”If someone said you forged your certificates, and you have built your life and integrity and, someone, all of a sudden brings everything down, that can lead to suicide.
”If you have a case in court challenging the authenticity of the certificates, of a candidate that is a different one, but if you say it is a case of forgery and you have not heard from the person concerned then you have not established anything.
”You haven’t gone to school or university where this person studied to confirm the veracity of the allegation but you already condemn the person. It’s is very sad and dangerous.”
The former Governor of Bayelsa State further explained that APC approached the Supreme Court for a review because its candidate was wrongly accused.
But, a number of Nigerians insist Sylva is a joker. Said an angry APC member, who pleaded anonymity, Sylva should allow the man to commit suicide. “Here is a man who has caused the party so much pain,and embarrassed us, and he is just talking of suicide. He ought to have committed suicide since”
Another advised Sylva to quit office. “The only reason he became a Minister that Ministry was to deliver Bayelsa. He failed. He should quit. If he was thorough, he should have known that this man was not qualified.
He should be allowed to commit suicide. Or, he should go and face prosecution for lying on oath”.
