The cold war between the federal and Rivers state government has claimed its first casualty.
He’s Dandaura Mustspha, the state commissioner of Police who has been redeployed from the state by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.
Last week, the state government arrested two pilots in the employ of Caverton Helicopters for flouting the COVID 19 regulations.
It was Mustapha that led Governor Mike and other state’s officials to arrest the pilots.
Hadi Sirika, the minister of Aviation had in his response to Mustspha action described the development as ‘dangerous ignorance’.
Following the minister’s comment, keen watchers of the dog fight had predicted that head will roll as the federal government was not prepared to overlook the action of its officials which it considered breach of extant rules.
They are obviously right considering the hurried redeployment of the police commissioner barely two weeks after the incident, analysts say.
Though the two pilots have now been granted bail, top officials in Buhari administration, the magazine learnt is still poised to punish other officials which it believed partook in what one aide to the president , described as a’ disgraceful act.’
