It came as a shock to Governor Nasir El-Rufai, (who is on quarantine, having contracted the Coronavirus) and the entire people of Kaduna State, on the demise of the Emir of Jere Dr. Sa’ad Usman, in Kaduna State.
The late Emir was the husband to former Minister of Finance, Senator Esther Nenadi Usman.
The younger brother of the late Emir, Alhaji Aminu Jere, announced the passing away of the Emir to join his forebears.
Jere disclosed on Wednesday that he had just lost a brother in the person of Dr. Usman.
His words: “Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Illaihi Rajiun. I just lost a brother in person of HRH the Sarkin Jere, Dr Saad Usman, PhD.”
“Janazah at Jere, by 2pm Insha Allah.”
The late monarch was hospitalised in London due to injuries sustained during an argument between him and some locals who were alleged to have hit him with an object.
The dispute between the late Emir and the locals was said to have emanated from a land dispute.
Dr. Usman was once Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, and also held other superior positions government circle at different times.
He will be buried by 2pm today according to Islamic rites.
