Banished Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II has been visited by Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state, few hours after an Abuja Court directed the federal government to release him from state confinement.
The duo are expected to leave Nasarawa for Kaduna where the deposed monarch will now live temporarily.
He’s expected to join his family later in Lagos, according to sources.
The Kaduna helmsman is the very first prominent politician from the ruling APC to visit the deposed emir at his two bedroom flat, in Awe, Nasarawa where he has been confined, after the Kano state governor, Abdulahi Ganduje removed him from his exalted position on Monday.
It was not clear what the two discussed during the brief meeting, but the magazine learnt that the visit by El Rufai was to show his solidarity with the ex- CBN Governor and to escort him.away from his confinement.
The magazine also learnt that the emir’s removal has caused scares in the ruling party, following allegation that Buhari was privy to his deposition.
The Presidency has denied the allegation.
Governor El Rufai had earlier appointed Sanusi as Chancellor, Kaduna state University and Vice Chair of the state investment agency chaired by the governor.
